摘要: Described herein are vascular remodeling devices that include a proximal section, an intermediate section, and a distal section. During deployment, the proximal section can expand from a compressed delivery state to an expanded state and anchors the device in an afferent vessel of a bifurcation. The distal section expands from the compressed delivery state to an expanded state that may be substantially planar, approximately semi-spherical, umbrella shaped, or reverse umbrella shaped. The distal section is positioned in a bifurcation junction across the neck of an aneurysm or within an aneurysm. The intermediate section allows perfusion to efferent vessels. Before or after the device is in position, embolic material may be used to treat the aneurysm. The distal section can act as a scaffolding to prevent herniation of the embolic material. The device can be used for clot retrieval with integral distal embolic protection.

摘要: An endoluminal vascular repair system includes an aorta stent graft having a fenestration with a first reinforcement around the fenestration. The fenestration aligns with a branch vessel when deployed. A branch vessel stent graft has a flaring portion at a proximal end of the branch vessel prosthesis that has a second reinforcement around its circumference to engage the reinforcement around the fenestration, and a tubular portion. When deployed, the flaring portion retains the proximal end within the aorta stent graft, and the tubular portion extends through the fenestration and into the branch vessel.

摘要: The present invention provides tools and methods for mapping and measuring the articular surface of a joint (or of any bony surface) and for fabricating a prosthetic device based on this recorded data. In one embodiment, once the defect of the chondral surface has been identified, a guide pin (20) is inserted arthroscopically. A fixation screw (10) is driven into the subchondral bone in relation to a reference axis that is approximately central to the defect, the fixation device also serving to define a tangent point to the surrounding articular surface. A measuring tool (70) having a static post that establishes the axial location of origin is inserted on the reference axis. Data recorded during the mapping procedure is entered into parametric engineering design software of similar algorithm to define a three dimensional surface matched to the bearing surface geometry to be implanted and reproduce the anatomic contours mapped (Figure 1).

摘要: A thin, biocompatible, high-strength, composite material is disclosed that is suitable for use in various implanted configurations. The composite material maintains flexibility in high-cycle flexural applications, making it particularly applicable to high-flex implants such as heart pacing lead or heart valve leaflet. An implantable article for regulating blood flow direction in a human patient, comprises a leaflet comprising more than one layer of the composite material. The composite material has at least one fluoropolymer layer having a plurality of pores and an elastomeric material present in substantially all of the pores of the fluoropolymer layers, less than about 80% fluoropolymer by weight and an additional material layer between the layers of the composite material.
