A substituted pyrazole compound represented by the general formula (1), which is a novel substance synthesized from a pyrazole derivative and a halooxime ester derivative and has excellent herbicidal activity; and a composition containing the substituted pyrazole derivative or a hydrazide derivative thereof as an active ingredient. This herbicidal composition is effective against a wide spectrum of weeds and is applicable in a small dose. It is sufficiently safe for some important crops.

The present invention provides a herbicide composition containing a substituted pyrazole derivative represented by the following formula (I) as an active ingredient, more particularly, a herbicide composition having a wide herbicidal spectrum, applicable in a small dose with sufficient safety to certain important crops. The herbicide composition of the invention containing the' substituted pyrazole' derivative represented by the formula (I) as an active ingredient had a wide herbicidal spectrum, exerted an excellent herbicidal effect even in a small dose, showing sufficient safety to some important crops, such as rice, wheat and soybean.

This novel propionate derivative is suitable for use as an agricultural fungicide.

A process for producing 2-halo-3,5-difluoroaniline by heating 4-amino-5-halo-2,6-difluoroisophthalonitrile in the presence of sulfuric acid with a concentration of 50 wt.% or above at a temperature ranging from 80 ° C to the boiling point of the reaction mixture; 4-amino-5-halo-2,6-difluoroisophthalamide as an intermediate for the production of the aniline; and a process for producing the amide. The above aniline and amide are useful as the starting material or intermediate for producing pharmaceutical, agricultural and industrial chemicals.
