    摘要： A dynamic edge guide (100, 125) for use in a sheet side-edge registration system may include a moving belt (101) having raised ridges (103, 104) thereon that form a channel into which the side-edge of a sheet to be registered is inserted sheets moved through the registration system by a transport device are side registered against the belt by a scuffer mechanism (81,82), with the transport device and belt moving at substantially the same speed. In this manner, any force tending to show a sheet being registered has nothing added to it by the contact between the sheet and the edge guide. The belt (101) may be replaced by a series of rotary contact rolls (125).

    摘要： A unique system and method for directly feeding sheets into a printing device (80) having a moving image conducting element (82) with a plurality of images (84) placed thereon for transfer to sheet paper and having a wait station (88) for controlling the timimg of paper transfer to the image conducting element (82) provides a feeding table (104) to transfer sheets from a source to a printer stack deshingler (96) while bypassing and, thus, eliminating any need for sheet stacks. The movement of each sheet by the wait station (88) into the image transfer element signals the cutting of a sheet from a roll of continuous web (98) on the input side (122) of the feeding table (104). Once the sheet has moved into the image transfer element the absence of a sheet at the detector (144) signals transfer by the feeding table of the cut sheet to the stack deshingler (96). Simultaneously, a source of web presents and end of the web representing another sheet to a cutting unit (124). This sheet is cut when the current sheet at the wait station (88) begins movement into the image transfer element.

    摘要： The present invention is directed to a method and apparatus for in-line separation of a plurality of laminated webs (10a-10i) of polymer film and non-woven web to compensate for the increased width due to stretching in the cross-machine direction (CD). Due to the stretching in the cross-machine direction, typically by interdigital rolling or tentering, the width of the individual webs (10a-10i) is increased. To compensate for the increase in width, the apparatus and method of the present invention is employed to provide for in-line separation of the narrow webs (10a-10i). The apparatus of the present invention may allow for simplicity in threading the device, due to the ability to automatically thread individual turning bars (16a-16i and 18a-18i) by moving the turning bars across the undeflected path of the web (10a-10i).
