Abstract:
Method of installing a dormer assembly comprising a dormer cheek, an upper section and a lower section, in a pitched roof comprising an underroof, rafters and/or battens, wherein the sections are adapted to adjoin the dormer cheek, the pitched roof and the opposite section. The method comprises the steps of: mounting a base frame, comprising frame members, onto the rafters and/or battens, cutting a hole in the underroof, thereby creating flaps in the underroof extending along the frame members of the base frame, attaching the flaps of the underroof to the base frame members by folding the flaps.
Abstract:
A system for providing covers for surface areas of built structures; the system including a film of heat shrinkable material for stretching and heat shrinking over one or more of the surfaces of the built structure; the film formed as a sheet comprising an assembly of lengths of the heat shrinkable material prepared on a supporting surface; characterized in that the sheet is prepared by applying heat to overlap portions between adjoining lengths of the heat shrinkable material while the overlap portions are secured in contact between the supporting surface and a guide rail assembly laid over the overlap portions; the overlap portions welded together by a heat gun moveable along the guide rail assembly at a predetermined distance above the overlap portions. In a particular preferred form a kit is provided wherein adjacent lengths of the heat shrinkable material are spread on a supporting surface with a predetermined overlap of one length of the heat shrinkable material over the other; the guide rail assembly positioned over a first overlap portion of the overlap and the heat source moved along the guide rail assembly to weld the adjoining lengths along the first overlap portion.
Abstract:
Water vapour control, which is arranged facing the inside of a building, comprising a first layer having a water vapour diffusion resistance (sd-value) of 2 - 5 meters diffusion-equivalent air space width, measured at a relative humidity of an atmosphere surrounding the layer of 30 - 50 %, and having a sd-value of 0.6 meters diffusion-equivalent air space width, measured at a relative humidity of 80 - 100 %.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an insulated building construction (10), in particular an insulated roof construction and/or wall construction of a building, comprising at least one thermally insulating layer (11), wherein at least one moisture-variable protective layer (9) for the thermally insulating layer (11) is provided on an outside (12) of the thermally insulating layer (11) and on an inside (13) of the thermally insulating layer (11) facing a building interior of the building, wherein the protective layers (9) each have a water-vapor-diffusion-equivalent air layer thickness Sd that depends on the ambient moisture. According to the invention, the water-vapor-diffusion-equivalent air layer thicknesses Sd of the two protective layers (9) deviate from each other by less than 20%, preferably less than 10%, in the range of a relative humidity from 0% to 25% and/or in the range of a relative humidity from 80% to 100%.
Abstract:
