摘要: A piercing terminal (1) for a coaxial cable (50) composed of a core conductor wire (51), an inner insulating layer (52) for covering the core conductor wire, an outer conductor-shielding layer (53) for covering the inner insulating layer, and an outer insulating layer (54) for covering the outer conductor-shielding layer, which can electrically connected with the outer conductor-shielding layer when a pair of piercing blades (3A,4A) of the piercing terminal is embedded into the outer insulating layer to penetrate the outer insulating layer. The piercing terminal includes: a pair of strips (3,4) spaced apart at a distance larger than the outer diameter of the core conductor wire and smaller than that of the inner insulating layer and opposed substantially in parallel; a piercing blade (3A,3B) formed in the leading end of each strip; and a pair of curved portions outwardly convex with respect to the pair of strips near to the base portion thereof. The piercing terminal can reduce the difference of the impedance between the core conductor wire and piercing terminal and the impedance between the core conductor wire and outer conductor-shielding when electrically connected with the coaxial cable.

摘要: A termination assembly (10) is disclosed for terminating a shield (12) of a shielded insulated cable (14). The cable includes a conductor core (20) with a dielectric sheath (22) therearound, and an outer insulating jacket (24) with the shield disposed between the dielectric sheath and the insulating jacket. The assembly includes a dielectric housing (16) having a terminal receptacle (38). A terminal (18) is received in the receptacle of the housing and includes a pair of teeth (68,70) movable toward each other in a direction (B) generally tangentially of the dielectric sheath (22) to displace the outer insulating jacket (24) and to clamp a portion (80) of the shield (12) between the teeth (68,70) without substantially disturbing the dielectric sheath (22).

摘要: Coaxial cables and coaxial cable connectors are disclosed. In one embodiment, a connector includes a body portion having a first end and a second end and defining a bore, a contact member having a circumferential portion and at least one protruding member, an inner sleeve, a rotatable coupling nut, and a conductor retaining member. The at least one protruding member protrudes from the circumferential portion toward the second end of the body portion and within the bore. The rotatable coupling nut is rotatably coupled to the inner sleeve and electrically coupled to the contact member. The conductor retaining member is centrally disposed within the inner sleeve, and is configured to receive an inner conductor of the co-axial cable such that the inner conductor is free to pass through the conductor retaining member in a first direction, and restricted from passing through the conductor retaining member in a second direction.

The system includes a first parallel mirrored pair of terminals (160, 162) having a planar connection portion (164, 166) and a second pair of parallel mirrored terminals (132, 134) having a cantilever beam portion (136, 140) and contact points (138, 142) configured to contact the first terminals (160, 162). The cantilever beam portions (136, 140) are generally perpendicular to the planar connection portions (164, 166). The terminals (132, 134 & 160, 162) cooperate to provide consistent characteristic impedance. The connection system further includes an electromagnetic shield (172, 174) that longitudinally surrounds the terminals (132, 134 & 160, 162).
