摘要: Joint coding of depth map video and texture video is provided, where a motion vector for a texture video is predicted from a respective motion vector of a depth map video or vice versa. For scalable video coding, depth map video is coded as a base layer and texture video is coded as an enhancement layer(s). Inter-layer motion prediction predicts motion in texture video from motion in depth map video. With more than one view in a bit stream (for multi view coding), depth map videos are considered monochromatic camera views and are predicted from each other. If joint multi-view video model coding tools are allowed, inter-view motion skip issued to predict motion vectors of texture images from depth map images. Furthermore, scalable multi-view coding is utilized, where interview prediction is applied between views in the same dependency layer, and inter-layer (motion) prediction is applied between layers in the same view.

摘要: Positioning and/or navigation of an electronic device within a building when GPS signals are unavailable is provided. The electronic device scans for available Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) Access Points (APs) upon, e.g., entering a building. The electronic device detects a signal (e.g., beacon) from at least one available WLAN AP, whereupon the electronic device retrieves the indoor location of the available WLAN AP. The location information can be directly downloaded from the WLAN AP while in state-1 via, e.g., a Native Query Protocol which includes an extension to currently defined Native Query info elements that returns location information. Alternatively, the Media Access Control (MAC) address of the WLAN AP can be read from the beacon signal, which is then used to retrieve the location of the WLAN AP from an associated database. Additionally, various embodiments may be implemented with or via a mapping application or service, where the mapping application is able to display any floor's floor plan of a building and determine/obtain the position of the electronic device inside the building relative to the floor plan.

摘要: Various communication systems may benefit from appropriate handling of reconfiguration. For example, certain wireless communication systems may benefit from lossless bearer reconfiguration when handling a transition from the user of a longer sequence number to a shorter sequence number. A method can include determining, by a protocol entity, if a next expected highest count value among count values associated with protocol data units received is more than a pre-defined limit ahead of a lowest count value among count values associated with protocol data units expected to be received. The method can also include resetting the next expected highest count value to a new value corresponding to a predefined upper limit, conditional on the determination.

摘要: Method, apparatus, and computer program product embodiments are disclosed to improve network performance for ad hoc network initiation. Example embodiments include a new operational sequence for wireless devices initiating the use of an ad hoc network. The example embodiments require appropriately enabled wireless devices to only respond to probe request frames from other similarly appropriately enabled wireless devices. In this manner, two devices may avoid the time consuming effort of combining two different ad hoc networks into a single ad hoc network so that the two devices can communicate.

摘要: There is proposed a method and corresponding apparatuses allowing a change from a packet switched communication domain to a circuit switched communication domain. When a user equipment as a connection terminating point receives a connection initialization message with a media flow, such as audio, which cannot be delivered by the packet switched access, it sends a specific response rejecting the connection via the packet switched access to an application server for service centralization and continuity. In the application server, it is checked whether several conditions are met in order to determine whether the communication connection comprising the media flow is allowed to be changed to the circuit switched domain. If yes, the communication connection is changed from the packet switched communication domain to the circuit switched communication domain.

摘要: An apparatus, method and system configured to select radio access parameters between communication devices. In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a processor (720) and memory (750) including computer program code. The memory (750) and the computer program code are configured to, with the processor (720), cause the apparatus to determine an estimated data rate between a first endpoint communication device and a second endpoint communication device, and select at least one of a radio interface and a radio interface data rate from the first endpoint communication device in accordance with the estimated data rate.
