A method for separating conjunct polymers and sulfolane from a mixture containing conjunct polymers, sulfolane, and hydrofluoric acid is disclosed, which method comprises the sequential steps of separating hydrofluoric acid from the mixture to provide an intermediate stream containing less than 30 percent hydrofluoric acid by weight and gravitationally separating the intermediate stream into a sulfolane-enriched stream and a conjunct polymer-enriched stream.

In the production of synthetic anhydrous calcium sulphate and pure hydrofluoric acid, fluorspar is reacted with a mixture of sulphuric acid, oleum and a solution providing from the acid washing. Hence, a synthetic calcium sulphate is prepared, containing only the desired low content of CaF2, while the free sulphuric acid is completely neutralized, other desirable compounds being already present. The reaction is carried out in conditions such that no fluorsulphonic acid or very negligeable amounts of said acid reach the reactor and that the formation of new amounts of fluorsulphonic acid is actively prevented in the reactor. To this effect, on one hand the compounds CaF2 and the mixture-acid are introduced at a high temperature in the reactor and on the other hand the reactor is brought to a temperature such that the reaction initiates at about 100 C, thereby preventing the formation of new amount of fluorsulphonic acid. The gases coming out from the reactor are, in a first step, dried at a high temperature, then dusts are removed therefrom and finally in the last step, the gases are cooled.

Dans le cadre de la fabrication de sulfate de calcium anhydre synthetique et d'acide fluorhydrique pur, l'on fait reagir du spath fluor avec un melange d'acide sulfurique, d'oleum et de solution provenant du lavage acide. L'on prepare ainsi un sulfate de calcium synthetique, qui ne contiendra plus que le faible pourcentage souhaitable en CaF2, alors que l'acide sulfurique libre est completement neutralise, d'autres composants souhaitables etant deja presents. L'on mene la reaction sous de telles conditions que des quantites d'acide fluorsulfonique nulles ou tres negligeables ne parviennent au reacteur et que dans ce dernier l'on puisse empecher activement la formation de nouvelles quantites d'acide fluorsulfonique. Dans ce but, d'une part l'on introduit les composants CaF2 et melange-acide a une temperature elevee dans le reacteur et d'autre part l'on porte le reacteur a une temperature telle que la reaction s'amorce aux environs de 100 C., ce qui alors empeche la formation de nouvelles quantites d'acide fluorsulfonique. Les gaz s'echappant du reacteur sont, en premiere etape, seches a temperature elevee, puis depoussieres et enfin, en derniere etape, refroidis.

This invention provides a method for stably producing 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene for a long period of time wherein unreacted materials are reused after distillation without liquid-liquid separation to suppress catalyst deactivation. The method for producing 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene comprises the step of reacting 1233xf or like chloropropene with hydrogen fluoride in the presence of a catalyst, the step of subjecting the reaction mixture obtained in the above step to distillation to separate the mixture into a first stream comprising 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene as a main component and a second stream comprising unreacted hydrogen fluoride and organic matter containing unreacted chloropropene as main components, and the step of recycling the second stream to the above reaction, the distillation being performed under conditions in which the unreacted hydrogen fluoride and the organic matter containing the unreacted chloropropene do not undergo liquid-liquid separation at a portion of a distillation column from which the second stream is withdrawn.
