摘要:
Nonwoven materials having discrete three-dimensional deformations therein forming protrusions that extend outward from the first surface of the nonwoven material and wide base openings adjacent to the second surface of the nonwoven material are disclosed. At least some of the three-dimensional deformations may have improved protrusion dimensions after compressive forces are applied on the nonwoven material. In some cases, at least some of the protrusions may have one or more holes therein or completely therethrough. Methods of making the same are also disclosed.

[Problem] To prevent backflow, improve absorption speed, and reduce the diffusion of urine in a surface sheet in an absorbent article that uses cotton fibers in the surface sheet. [Solution] A medium or higher volume incontinence pad (1) that absorbs at least 20 cc of urine. A surface sheet (3), which is formed by coating a spun-lace non-woven cloth that is 100 weight% cotton fibers with a water repellent, has a plurality of openings (10) that pass from top to bottom formed in at least a region thereof that includes an excretion-orifice-facing section. An absorption body comprises a highly water-absorbent polymer and pulp fibers that do not include synthetic fibers. The basis weight of the highly water-absorbent polymer is 85-185 g/m2, the basis weight of the pulp fibers is 75-300 g/m2, and the ratio of the pulp fibers to the highly water-absorbent polymer is 70-30 weight%:30-70 weight%.

A laminate web having a nonwoven web in facing relationship with a polymer film. The laminate web has a first side comprising the polymer film and a plurality of discrete tufts including fibers integral with and extending from the nonwoven web. Each of the tufts has a tuft base proximal to the nonwoven web and a distal portion opposing the tuft base. At least part of the distal portion of each of the tufts is covered by a cap, each cap being an integral extension of said polymer film extending over the distal portion of a discrete tuft. The cap has a first opening including a location of rupture in the polymer film above which the tuft extends.

An absorbent article comprises a three-dimensional liquid permeable topsheet. The topsheet comprises a first layer comprising a hydrophobic material and a second layer comprising a hydrophilic material. The first layer is joined to the second layer. The topsheet comprises a plurality of recesses, a plurality of projections, and a plurality of land areas. The land areas surround at least a majority of the plurality of projections and a plurality of the recesses. The absorbent article comprises a liquid impermeable backsheet, an acquisition material, an absorbent core disposed at least partially intermediate the acquisition material and the liquid impermeable backsheet, and an indicia. The indicia is on the acquisition material or the liquid permeable topsheet. The indicia is visible from a wearer-facing side of the absorbent article. The indicia is different color than the acquisition material or the liquid permeable topsheet.

摘要:
A top sheet for an absorbent personal care product is a water permeable composite web produced by hydro-entangling a web of chemical free natural and / or cellulosic staple fibers and / or blend of natural and cellulosic staple fibers and a web of man-made continuous filament yarns such that a first side of the composite web exposes the chemical free natural and / or cellusoic staple fibers and / or blend of natural and cellulosic staple fibers and an opposite second side of the composite web has the man-made continuous filament yarns. The web of chemical free natural and / or cellulosic staple fibers and / or blend of natural and cellulosic staple fibers is hydrophilic and the web of man-made continuous filament synthetic yarns is hydrophobic. The composite web weighs between about 20 gsm and about 40 gsm.

A disposable absorbent article having a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent core disposed therebetween is described herein. The topsheet includes a first zone disposed between a second zone and a third zone; a first end area and a second end area; and an array of features which includes one of apertures, tufts, ridges, or grooves disposed in the first zone. A plurality of bond sites are disposed in the second and third zones. The plurality of bond sites are configured in a curvilinear manner in at least the first end area or the second end area and mask a boundary of the first zone.

摘要:
A process of making an absorbent article comprising the steps of providing a liquid permeable topsheet web extending substantially continuously in a machine direction, the topsheet web having a first and second surface, a liquid impermeable backsheet web extending substantially continuously in the machine direction and an acquisition layer having a first and second surface. The topsheet web and the acquisition layer comprise fibers. The process comprises the step of aligning the topsheet web and the acquisition layer in a face to face relationship such that the second surface of the topsheet web in in contact with the first surface of the acquisition layer. The process comprises the step of simultaneously mechanically deforming and combining the topsheet web together with the acquisition layer to provide a topsheet/acquisition layer laminate web having three-dimensional protrusions.
