Abstract:
The present invention provides a nonwoven substrate comprising a fibrous web defining a surface; and a layer of a benefit agent wherein said benefit agent is selected from an additive composition, an enhancement component and combinations thereof; wherein said benefit agent is frothed and bonded to the fibrous web surface through a creping process. Additionally, the present invention provides for a method of creping a nonwoven substrate and also provides for a nonwoven substrate comprising an adhesive film of an aqueous, frothed, benefit agent.
Abstract:
A film that is formed from a thermoplastic composition is provided. The thermoplastic composition contains a rigid renewable polyester and a polymeric toughening additive. The toughening additive can be dispersed as discrete physical domains within a continuous matrix of the renewable polyester. An increase in deformation force and elongational strain causes debonding to occur in the renewable polyester matrix at those areas located adjacent to the discrete domains. This can result in the formation of a plurality of voids adjacent to the discrete domains that can help to dissipate energy under load and increase tensile elongation. To even further increase the ability of the film to dissipate energy in this manner, the present inventors have discovered that an interphase modifier may be employed that reduces the degree of friction between the toughening additive and renewable polyester and thus reduces the stiffness (tensile modulus) of the film.
Abstract:
An outer cover for an absorbent article includes a nonwoven component having a plurality of apertures formed therein and a film bonded to the apertured nonwoven component. The apertures in the nonwoven component are formed by needling prior to the film being bonded to the nonwoven component. A method of making the outer cover includes feeding a web of nonwoven material to a needling station, needling the web of nonwoven material to form a plurality of apertures therein to define an apertured web of nonwoven material, and bonding the apertured web of nonwoven material to a film.
Abstract:
A stretchable laminate (10) is provided. The stretchable laminate (10) comprises a nonwoven substrate (20) comprising a layer of spunbond fibers (120). A plurality of the spunbond fibers are multi- component fibers. Each of the multi-component fibers comprises a core formed from a composition comprising a thermoplastic polymer and an inorganic filler present in the nonwoven substrate at a level of between 1% and 15% by weight of the nonwoven substrate and a sheath comprising a thermoplastic polymer. The stretchable laminate (10) comprises an elastomeric material (30). The nonwoven substrate (20) is joined to a side of the elastomeric material (30).
