In one embodiment, a method of forming a glass container may include forming a glass container comprising a sidewall at least partially enclosing an interior volume. At least a portion of the interior surface of the sidewall may have an interior surface layer with a persistent layer heterogeneity relative to a midpoint of the sidewall. The interior surface layer of the glass container may be removed from the interior surface of the sidewall such that a modified interior surface of the sidewall has an interior region extending from about 10 nm below the modified interior surface into a thickness of the sidewall. The interior region may have a persistent layer homogeneity relative to the midpoint of the sidewall such that the modified interior surface is resistant to delamination.

A recyclable article having an external surface with an image printed thereon by droplets of ink is provided. The droplets of ink comprise a composition that includes a hydrophilic component. In embodiments, the hydrophilic component can facilitate the separation or loosening of the image from the external surface of the container when the image is exposed to a liquid-based solution at an elevated temperature. Methods for facilitating recycling of recyclable articles having printed images are also disclosed.

The objects of this invention are to set a predetermined height position for the portion of parison or preform that is the first to come in contact with body molding planes of a split mold and to prevent air from being trapped between in-mold labels and the container which is blow molded from the parison or the preform. In-mold labels 7 are fixed to the entire outer surface of body 4 of main container 1. An annular thinnest wall portion 4a is formed in the wall of the body 4 so that the thinnest wall portion 4a is the first to come in contact with the body molding planes 14 of a split mold 13. Under this construction, no bulge of air is formed between the body 4 and the in-mold labels 7 fixed to the entire surface of the body 4.
