In addition, there are means for adjusting the pressure exerted by the roll segments (9) on the rolls (3). According to the invention, into the bearing of each roll segment (9) on the cross-head (8) is integrated a component which either increases the bearing pressure as the distance between the roll segment (9) and the cross-head with an application force increasing depending on the distance or reduces said pressure as the distance increases with an increasing counter-force depending on the distance. Thus on the one hand the most uniform possible pressure on all rolls (3) is ensured and on the other negative effects owing to excessive differences in diameter between the rolls (3) are prevented.
