摘要： The present invention is an interactive computer system which may operate on a computer network. Subscribers interact with a fully interactive programthrough the use of input devices and a personal computer or a television. The multiple video/audio datastreams may be received from a broadcast transmission source or may be resident in local or external storage. In response to user inputs, a personalized graphics, video and/or audio presentation is provided to the user either immediately or at a later time. If not presented immediately, the interactive computer system utilizes "trigger points" to determine when to enable multiple multimedia segments during the show. The CPU uses embedded or stored authoring commands for integrating the various multimedia elements. The interactive multimedia computer enables seamless flicker-free switching from one signal to another on the same or different channels.

摘要： A system for simulcasting a fully interactive program with a normal conventional program in the same standard video signal bandwidth. It allows active participation by subscribers who have interactive components (600) connected to a television (186) or personal computer display (187), as well as normal viewing of the conventional program by viewers with conventional television sets (186). An important feature is that interactivity is offered as an option, without any degradation or interruption in program content to users who do not have the interactive components (600). Interactivity is personalized through the use of alternative audio responses and/or graphic displays that can be provided as part of the transmitted video signal bandwidth. The interactive elements are presented to the subscriber either immediately after subscriber entry and/or later at transparent 'trigger points' (900). At trigger points (900), program content is subtly altered to present specialized attention to each interactive subscriber.

摘要： An interactive cable television system is disclosed which utilizes a standard cable television distribution network for simultaneously providing a plurality of viewers with an interactive television program comprising a plurality of signals related in time and content. Video signals (1) are transmitted in a digital format, more than one signal being multiplexed onto a data stream on a single channel. The video signals (1) may be compressed for efficiency. A receiver (7), in conjunction with a signal selector (8), selects a particular NTSC channel for playback, then selects a particular video signal from the data stream, and decompresses the video signal for playback. Seamless switching between video signals on different channels is provided. An alternative embodiment is disclosed wherein the various signals which comprise the interactive program are switched at the head end (300) rather than at the receiver (7). The multiple choice control unit (9) selects a desired signal by relaying the multiple choice selections of the user through a relay box (17) back to a remotely located switching station. The switching station routes the correct video signal down the appropriate cable channel for the particular user.

摘要： An interactive television system (10b) for provi­ding full motion synched compatible audio visual displays based on dynamic user selection (26) of a plurality of syllable synched compatible audio choices for a common full motion video frame presentation received over a common television channel. Two or more audio channels are synched to a common video channel, with the video being compatible with all audio channels. The interactive programming is transmitted via broadcast or cable TV and received (28) by VCR used as a tuner (12) or by a simplified TV head-end tuner, with the transmitted television signal having the audio channels either multiplexed into the video line or the existing audio channels. The received television signal is provided to a control module (14) which demultiplexes the signal (16) and ultimately combines the user selected audio signal with the video in an RF modulator (20) and computer control (18, 22, 24, 26) to provide the interactive display.

The server (116) receives a real-time data feed and generates a command directed to a Flash movie on the client device. The command directs the presentation of the Flash movie (118).

摘要： The system and method may provide directions to the user of an electronic signal such as a radio or television broadcast. The directions guide the user from a current location to a destination associated with the electronic signal by accessing an address embedded within, or transmitted in conjunction with, the electronic signal. The address provides an indication to an online information provider an/or a database within which a listing of locations for a destination are provided. By comparing the various locations of the destination against the current location of the user, determined using Global Positioning System (GPS) data, the system is able to determine which location of the destination is closest and to provide appropriate directions. Maps and various other directional tools, including verbal directions and visual directions, may be generated. Reverse directions may also be generated from a destination to other predetermined way-points such as home, office or starting point.
