A method of lining the inner surface of a conduit, comprising placing on the site a roll of hard or semi-hard plastic pipe deformed from the original shape, i.e. a generally circular pipe to a flat pipe drawing out the thermally softened pipe from the roll toward the opening of a conduit to be lined therewith, folding in two to a shape like the letter U in front of the opening, wherein the U-folded pipe is immediately set fixedly by cooling it forcedly from the outer surface of the pipe whose shape is kept retained, put into the conduit in this shape-retained state, restored to its original shape by expanding the pipe by heat and pressure from the inner side thereof. The lining is facilitated, and the quality of lining is improved.

An apparatus for measuring an inner diameter of a pipeline according to the present invention is incorporated into a passage pig for checking passableness through the pipeline or a cleaning pig (60) for cleaning within the pipeline while running through the pipeline, the passage pig and the cleaning pig including at least one seal cup (60B to 60D) sealably sliding along an interior surface of the pipeline. The apparatus includes travel distance measuring means (65, 62D) for measuring a travel distance of the passage pig or the cleaning pig (60) within the pipeline; swing angle detector means (62E) for detecting a swing angle of a pig body during the travel distance measurement; displacement detector means (61) for individually detecting a radial displacement of the peripheral portion of the seal cup at a number of points along an entire circumference during the travel distance measurement; computing means (62C) for computing an output from each of said means; and recording means (62B) for recording an output from the computing means. The computing means (62C) delivers a detection result provided by the displacement detector means (61) corresponding to an output f rom the travel distance measuring means and a swing angle of the pig body at a travel position thereof.

A ferritic stainless steel sheet containing 16-25 mass % of Cr and Ti and/or Nb at a ratio of (C+N) × 8 or more is used as a substrate for formation of a hydrogen-permeating membrane exposed to a high-temperature, atmosphere of 600-900°C, while another ferritic stainless steel sheet containing Cr up to 15 mass % is used as a substrate for formation of a hydrogen-permeating membrane exposed to a high-temperature atmosphere of 450-600°C. The stainless steel sheet is formed to a perforated body 3a with holes for passage of gas. A hydrogen-permeating membrane 3b is fixed to an external surface of the perforated body 3a to build up a hydrogen-separating pipe 3. A plurality of the hydrogen-separators 3 are inserted into a cavity between inner and outer walls of a double-pipe 2 filled with a catalyst 4. Hydrocarbon gas fed through a nozzle 7 is decomposed with combustion heat of a fuel F fed into an inner space of the double-pipe 2. A decomposition product H 2 selectively permeates through the membrane 3b and flows out through the takeout opening 8.
