摘要: A system (10) and method for anchoring a round catheter pull wire (24) within the distal end (18) of a catheter. A steering deflection mechanism (12) includes a pull ring (38) having a plurality of apertures (42a, 42b, 42c) and one or more receiving slots (40). The method includes affixing one or more round pull wires to the one or more receiving slots of the pull ring. The shape of the round wire and manner of affixing the wire to the pull ring provide a steering assembly that can withstand greater pull forces while maintaining design integrity.

摘要: A probe apparatus in combination with an endoscope includes a confocal laser probe (11) for in-vivo imaging. The probe is insertable through a forceps channel (19) of an endoscope (10), and has an optical unit. There is a lens barrel (29). Plural lens optics (30, 38, 40) are mounted in the lens barrel. The plural lens optics include first lens optics (26, 36, 40) disposed on an object side, and opposed to an object within a body. An optically inactive surface (32d, 36c, 40c) is formed with the first lens optics, and has at least one portion protruding from a barrel end surface (29b) of the lens barrel on the object side. Preferably, a height difference of protruding the optically inactive surface from the barrel end surface is 10-500 microns. The portion of the optically inactive surface protruding from the barrel end surface is coated with adhesive agent, for adhesion of the first lens optics thereto.

摘要: An endoscope has an insertion portion, an abutment portion, increasing means and observation means. The insertion portion is an insertion portion which can be inserted into a subject. The abutment portion is provided at a distal end portion of the insertion portion. The abutment portion provided at the distal end portion can contact with the subject. The increasing means increases the abutment area of the abutment portion. The observation means performs observation of the subject on the abutment portion provided at the distal end portion and having been increased by the increasing means, or performs observation of the subject spaced by a predetermined distance by the increased abutment portion.

摘要: Provided is a treatment tool exchanging device that switches and holds a plurality of treatment tools for treating a target to be treated. The treatment tool exchanging device includes a flexible insertion part into which the plurality of treatment tools are inserted and in which a plurality of treatment tool channels for defining insertion paths for the treatment tools are formed; a driving part that advances each of the plurality of treatment tools, which are inserted through the treatment tool channels, within the treatment tool channel, and retracts each of the plurality of treatment tools within the treatment tool channel; a manipulating part that manipulates the plurality of treatment tools to perform treatment; and a control unit that controls the amount of protrusion, from the treatment tool channel of the treatment tool, which has protruded from a distal end of the treatment tool channel, among the plurality of treatment tools. The insertion part has a switching part that changes the insertion path of the treatment tool to be inserted.
