摘要： A sterilization container includes a hermetically sealed rigid and impermeable metal bellow valve. Upon pressurization of the external environment with steam the height of the bellow valve is reduced and this opens the valve thereby allowing steam to enter the sterilization container. Reducing the pressure outside of the sterilization container to atmospheric pressure increases the height of the bellow valve and closes the valve, thereby isolating the sterilized objects within the sterilization container.

Usage of the apparatus in an operating room provides a calming environment. The method and apparatus may be adapted to include wireless control over the intensity, color, and on/off state of the light. Further, usage of known translucent materials provides a sterile and safe surface.

The outer ring includes first and second circular tubes spaced apart axially with each including a lumen having a rigid, noncompliant split hoop placed therein. The outer ring may be rolled over itself and around the annular axis to retract the sleeve with sufficient force to stretch the incision to the desired diameter. A gel cap seal may be coupled to the outer ring outside of the biological body to seal the opening produced by the wound retractor between the body cavity and outside the body cavity.
