Provided is a suction check valve used in the field of waterway, which comprises a main body and an elastic seal sleeve (100). A waterway and at least one air inlet aperture are provided in the main body. The waterway is provided with a water inlet aperture (340) and a mutation cavity (350) communicated with the water inlet aperture (340). The section area of the mutation cavity (350) is larger than that of the water inlet aperture (340). The air inlet aperture has an air inlet located outside the main body and an air outlet located in the mutation cavity (350). The elastic seal sleeve (100) is installed in the main body and adapted to the air inlet aperture of the main body. When the water in waterway flows forward, negative pressure is generated in the mutation cavity (350) and the elastic seal sleeve (100) are absorbed so that the air inlet aperture is opened so as to suck air. When the water in waterway flows backward, hydraulic pressure in the waterway acts on an inner surface of the elastic seal sleeve (100) such that the elastic seal sleeve (100) seals the air inlet aperture.

An electromagnetically-operable fuel injector comprising a fuel chamber (44) having an outlet nozzle (15) and into which a solenoid core (28) projects. A ball valve (41) in the gap between the core (28) and the nozzle orifice IS movable towards and away from the core (28) by energisatin of an electromagnetic circuit to seat and unseat from a valve seat (39) around the nozzle orifice. Compensating means are provided which respond to changes in temperature by changing a physical characteristic. The compensating means function either to change the length of the core (28) or to adjust the position of the valve seat (39) relative to the core (28) such that any tendency for fuel metering characteristics of the injector to be changed by a change in temperature in the injector is countered whereby operation of the injector to inject fuel is substantially independent of temperature change.
