    摘要: A packet trace diagnostic system (201) for monitoring and displaying packet transfers in a telecommunications network (400), especially so that faults or errors in the network can be detected quickly and easily, includes one or more monitoring probes (230) for monitoring data packets being transmitted along selected communications path, a processor (260) for predetermining acceptable data packet transfer characteristics, a measurement module (240) for measuring data packet transfer characteristics and a comparator (250) for comparing the measured data packet transfer characteristics to the predetermined acceptable packet transfer characteristics thereby enabling the identification of defective data packet transfers for the selected communications path. A user interface (220) can be used to input acceptable packet transfer characteristics and a display (270) may be used to display the results from the comparator (250) on a message sequence chart, such as a ladder diagram. One of the packet transfer characteristics being measured may be packet transmission delay variation or "jitter".

    摘要: The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for use with a mass spectrometer. The ion enhancement system of the present invention is used to direct a heated gas toward ions produced by a matrix based ion source and detected by a detector. The ion enhancement system is interposed between the ion source and the detector. The analyte ions that contact the heated gas are enhanced and an increased number of ions are more easily detected by a detector. The method of the invention comprises producing analyte ions from a matrix based ion source, enhancing the analyte ions with an ion enhancement system and detecting the enhanced analyte ions with a detector.

    摘要: A phase-diverse coherent optical spectrum analyzer is presented. An optical receiver receives a first input signal and a second input signal, and produces at least a first output signal, a second output signal, and a third output signal based on mixing the first input signal and the second input signal. A processing unit isolates heterodyne components from the first output signal, the second output signal and the third output signal, wherein the heterodyne components comprise a first signal and a second signal that represent the phase-diverse nature of the optical mixing process. Phase diversity of the heterodyning between the first input signal and the second input signal is achieved by the coherent optical spectrum analyzer.
