The invention relates to a process for the processing of components from mixed materials and other building materials mixed therewith such as metal components, glass, rubber, wood, fibrous material and the like. The components are crushed in an agglomerating system by impacting stress and the plastic, metal, glass, rubber and wood parts and the fibrous material are separated from each other or the plastics are processed into granules or in the form of a mixture in a plastic state. The process is particularly suitable for recycling shredder light fraction, electronic waste, for the processing of mixed materials or films, of PVC or wooden window frames with rubber seals and metal fittings or of composite wooden materials, e.g. chip-boards with a plastic coating.

The device holds the sensor, with tape exposed, in a vacuum chamber which is sealed against the glass. The chamber is evacuated, and the sensor is then pressed against the glass by the longitudinal movement of a drive shaft (64). The sensor may be installed with consistent force and no trapped air pockets or air bubbles. Air pockets are a special concern because air pockets adversely effect the optical performance of the sensor. The vacuum chamber device may be controlled by a computer, and features a latching mechanism which prevents the sensor from making contact with the glass until the chamber is evacuated.

In a more preferred aspect of the technology, the floorings and the corresponding compositions contain a major amount of a second compatible resin such as a non-plasticised PVB, and also a major amount of a composition inert filler. The floorings made in accordance with the technology herein can contain substantially reduced levels of chlorine.

The assembly includes a frame defining an opening for receiving and retaining a central panel (12). The frame is formed from two joined skins (16, 18) which may be molded in the same mold and which are provided with inwardly extending flanges (26, 26') having notched (26A) areas on opposite sides of the flanges such that the skins can be joined together to form a lap joint on the exterior edge and to seal a central panel in the opening. Foamable insulating material is provided as a core (20) between the two skins with a separate sealant material provided to seal the central panel. Passage means are provided for introducing the sealant material and the insulating material (20).
