In particular, automated systems and methods are described that separate regenerative cells, e.g., stem and/or progenitor cells, from adipose tissue. The systems and methods described herein provide rapid and reliable methods of separating and concentrating regenerative cells suitable for re-infusion into a subject.

The invention relates to a method for the enzymatic production of a curing agent in its fluid state, e.g. liquid, comprising, in free phase, at least one oxygenated chemical species. Said method consists in bringing into contact at least: one enzymatic catalysis agent, comprising at least one peroxidase-type enzyme; an oxidisable substrate in aqueous phase that can be oxidised by the action of an oxygen donor, by catalysis by said enzymatic catalysis agent, generating said oxygenated chemical species in free phase; and said oxygen donor. The inventive method is characterised in that: e) an aqueous reaction bath is formed comprising, in addition to the oxidisable substrate and the oxygen donor, said enzymatic catalysis agent in divided solid phase, but in free phase, distributed in said bath, which may be set in motion; f) the aqueous reaction bath is separated into a fraction enriched with the enzymatic catalysis agent in divided solid phase and a fraction free from said catalysis agent, from which the curing agent is obtained.

This invention relates to a bioprocess engineering solution for a product removal process for use in a biofermentation. The invention discloses a process for withdrawing an aliquot of broth from a biofermentation vessel during at least a portion of the biofermentation, removing biocatalyst and water, chromatographically separating biofermentation products from the withdrawn broth using water as an eluent, and returning the remaining components of the broth back to the biofermentation vessel. Process chromatography permits highly selective separation of the target molecule, preventing feedback inhibition of the biofermentation.

The present invention involves a simple, disposable, manual filtration and extraction device and method of use that provides a sample directly to an analytical method. The device is capable of providing a clarified liquid ready for analysis or disposal as appropriate for the specific analyte of interest, and is capable of capturing particulate materials and allowing for further extraction of those particles directly with the device. Once extracted, the device will deliver a liquid containing the analyte of interest to an analytical method. The filtration and extraction devise includes a pliant body having an open top end and an internal wall defining an inner chamber. A sealing mechanism is adapted to seal the open top end of the body. A gradient filter assembly including at least one filter is supported by a support assembly carried by the body. The pliant body is adapted to be squeezed by a user's fingers so as to impart a positive pressure in the chamber sufficient to cause a fluid in the chamber to flow through the filter assembly.
