摘要: A method for producing astaxanthin incorporates a method for producing astaxanthin-rich algae cells and a method for extracting astaxanthin therefrom. An initial feedstock comprises healthy algae, water, and nutrients. During a growth phase, carbon dioxide and light from a light source are supplied to the feedstock, thereby amplifying the algae. At least a portion of the nutrients remaining after amplification of the algae are separated from the amplified algae. During a stress phase, carbon dioxide and light are supplied to the amplified algae, thereby promoting production of astaxanthin by the amplified algae. The amplified algae and a cover are placed within an interior of an attrition mill having interior surfaces and media which are substantially non-reactive to astaxanthin and milled to release the astaxanthin from the algae. The cover limits oxidation of the released astaxanthin.

摘要: A methane fermentation system which can efficiently generate methane gas is provided.
The methane fermentation system (1) decomposes an organic waste (2) with an anaerobic microorganism to cause methane fermentation so as to generate the methane gas (3). The methane fermentation system (1) includes a wet bead mill (4) which finely pulverizes the organic waste (2). The methane fermentation system (1) also includes a methane fermentation chamber (6) in which the organic waste (2) finely pulverized in the wet bead mill (4) is decomposed with the anaerobic microorganism to cause the methane fermentation so as to generate the methane gas (3) . The organic waste (2) is finely pulverized in the wet bead mill (4) in a state where a moisture content is adjusted such that a solid content is equal to or less than 10%. The organic waste (2) whose moisture content is adjusted in this way is finely pulverized such that a particle diameter at 50% in a cumulative distribution with respect to the volume is equal to or less than 20 µm.

摘要: By providing a pre-processing unit 20A on a processing liquid channel included in a cell capturing apparatus 100, air bubbles accumulate in an introduction region 24 inside of the pre-processing unit 20A and thus the air bubbles are removed while a processing liquid moves through the introduction region 24 and a discharge region 26, even when the air bubbles are contained in the processing liquid. By providing a foreign matter removal filter 23, at least a part of foreign matters (foreign matters that cannot pass through through-holes 21) contained in the processing liquid can be captured and thus the processing liquid from which the foreign matters are removed can be supplied to a cell capturing device 1 at the subsequent stage. Consequently, the supply of the processing liquid with air bubbles mixed toward the vicinity of a filter 57 of the cell capturing device 1 disposed at the stage subsequent to the pre-processing unit 20A is reduced. This allows the process of cell capturing to be carried out with good repeatability.

摘要: Cells in a test liquid are captured and observed easily and accurately. A cell capture filter 30 is fixed by a first protrusion part 125 of a lid member 100 and a second protrusion part 225 of a housing member 200 in a cell capture device 1, and a first fitting part 130 and a second fitting part 230 are fitted with each other. This allows the cell capture filter 30 to be fixed between the lid member 100 and the housing member 200 in a state where a filter region of the cell capture filter 30 is surrounded by the looped first protrusion part 125 and the looped second protrusion part 225.
