A gas, e.g., part of the flow of exhaust gas induced by the induced draft fan [5] or air taken in from the atmosphere, is added to a gas flow path upstream the inlet of the induced draft fan [5] through an addition gas line provided with an addition gas control damper [4]. The addition gas control damper [4] is controlled on the basis of an output from a furnace pressure controller [12] such that when the furnace pressure is relatively high, the flow rate of the addition gas is reduced, whereas, when the furnace pressure is relatively low, the flow rate of the addition gas is increased.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Regelung einer Mischzonentemperatur einer Mischzone (5) eines Brenners (100), mit einer Zuführung der Verbrennungsluft für einen Brennerbetrieb zu der Mischzone (5) über einen mit einem Verbrennungsluftgebläse (3) verbundenen Zuführweg (2), mit einem der Mischzone (5) nachgeschalteten Wärmetauscher (8) sowie einem sich anschließenden Abgasabführweg (9). Es ist eine Aufgabe der Erfindung, eine Temperatur in der Mischzone (5) in verschiedenen Betriebszuständen und bei veränderter Brennerleistung möglichst konstant zu halten. Erfindungsgemäß ist daher mindestens eine Temperaturerfassungseinheit (10) im Bereich der Mischzone (5) vorgesehen, und bei einer Abweichung der Mischzonentemperatur von einer vorgebbaren Solltemperatur wird die Verbrennungsluftmenge durch Variation der Drehzahl des Verbrennungsluftgebläses (3) verändert. Dadurch ist die Mischzonentemperatur durch Variation des Luftverhältnisses auf eine Solltemperatur einstellbar.

A pressure probe assembly for attachment to a venturi of a gas-fired appliance, where the venturi includes a body having an inlet end, an outlet end, and a wall defining a mixing chamber extending from the inlet end to the outlet end about an axis. A support member is detachably coupled to the mixing chamber. A first pressure probe is coupled to the support member and has a first pressure tap disposed substantially adjacent the axis. A second pressure probe is coupled to the support member and has a second pressure tap disposed substantially adjacent the mixing chamber wall. Also disclosed is a gas-fired appliance, such as a water heater, including the pressure probe assembly.
