A dual-mode includes a light source configured to project a structured illumination from which visible light can be filtered. The dual-mode imager also includes a detector configured to capture both the structured illumination and visible light from the scene. A temporal or spatial filter is used to selectively block visible light from one or more portions of the detector while passing the structured illumination to the one or more portions of the detector.

Disclosed is a highly reliable optical fiber measurement device and measurement method having a simple and compact structure. The device includes a planar liquid holder having a plurality of liquid holding portions arranged along a flat face; a plurality of light receiving optical fibers for transmitting fluorescence generated in the liquid holding portions; a plurality of light emitting optical fibers for transmitting excitation light into the liquid holding portions; a measurement head capable of being positioned in the each liquid holding portion while supporting a plurality of measurement ends having a bundle of one light receiving end of the light receiving optical fibers and one light emitting end of light emitting optical fibers; a light reception selecting element that, by sequentially selecting one by one from plural the light receiving optical fibers and sequentially selecting one by one from plural kinds of wavelength or wavelength bands, sequentially guides the light of the selected wavelength or wavelength band of the fluorescence received by the selected light receiving optical fibers to one photoelectric element; and a photoelectric element for sequentially conducting photoelectric conversion on the guided fluorescence.

Eine Vorrichtung zur Bestimmung der Konzentration von NO 2 in Gasgemischen, insbesondere Abgasen von Dieselmotoren, umfasst eine Lichtquelle zur Ausgabe von Licht in einen Lichtweg; eine Sensoreinrichtung zum Empfang zumindest eines Teils des über den Lichtweg zur Sensoreinrichtung vordringenden Lichtes, wobei der Verlauf des Lichtweges so gewählt ist, dass dieser das zu untersuchende Gas durchsetzt, wobei die Sensoreinrichtung so gestaltet ist, dass diese Signale liefert die das Spektrum des erfassten Lichtes beschreiben; und eine Auswertungsschaltung zur Auswertung der durch die Sensoreinrichtung generierten Signale, wobei die Sensoreinrichtung derart gestaltet ist, die Bestimmung der NO 2 -Konzentration erfolgt indem die Bestimmung innerhalb eines eingeschränkten spektralen Bereiches erfolgt, in dem eine ausgeprägte absolute oder relative Variation des Absorptionskoeffizienten des NO 2 und eine geringe absolute oder relative Variation der weiteren Gase vorliegt. Hierdurch ist es möglich, für die Konzentration von NO 2 im Abgas eines Verbrennungsmotors indikative Signale über einen langen Zeitraum hinweg zuverlässig zu generieren.

The present subject matter relates to methods of high-speed analysis of product samples. Light is directed to a portion of a product under analysis and reflected from or transmitted through the product toward an optical detector. Signals for the detector are compared with reference signals based on a portion of the illuminating light passing through a reference element to determine characteristics of the product under analysis. The products under analysis may be stationary, moved by an inspection point by conveyor or other means, or may be contained within a container, the container including a window portion through which the product illuminating light may pass.

Abstract:
A measuring instrument with a parfocal combination of an ultra-violet to near-infrared (UV-NIR) spectrophotometer and a Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectrometer is disclosed. The parfocal configuration obviates lateral movement of the sample between two separate measurement instruments, and throughput is increased. The measuring instrument also includes an imaging apparatus, such as a camera or microscope ocular, to accurately position the measurement area of the sample. Beam directing elements, such as a mirror and objective lenses, are mounted on a common movable member. The common movable member, e.g. a linear or rotating turret, moves to properly align the desired beam directing element, thereby selecting the specific metrology mode. In addition, the measurement instrument includes a purging shroud along the FTIR spectrometer optical path.
