Abstract:
The present invention provides an anti-lost notification method and an anti-theft device, which can improve accuracy of Bluetooth anti-lost notification, and avoid erroneous vibration notification in a non-lost case. The method includes: determining whether a step count value in first preset duration before a connection between an anti-theft device and a peer device is disconnected is greater than a preset value; if the step count value is greater than the preset value, determining whether a signal quality value sequence of a communication signal between the anti-theft device and the peer device shows a progressively decreasing trend in the first preset duration before the connected is disconnected; and giving an alarm if the signal quality value sequence shows a progressively decreasing trend in the first preset duration before the connected is disconnected.
Abstract:
Security systems and methods for protecting retail display merchandise from theft are provided. For example, a security system includes a sensor configured to removably engage an input port of an item of merchandise, and a monitoring component configured to wirelessly communicate with the sensor and to removably support the sensor thereon, wherein the monitoring component and the sensor are configured to communicate with one another to determine a proximity of the item of merchandise relative to the monitoring component, wherein the monitoring component and/or the sensor is configured to initiate a security signal when the proximity between the monitoring component and the sensor is not within a predetermined range, and wherein the monitoring component and/or the sensor is configured to initiate a security signal in response to the sensor being removed from the input port of the item of merchandise.
Abstract:
An improved wearable locator has an ultra-low power RF transceiver, GPS receiver, cellular network RF transceiver, processor, programmable non-volatile memory, LCD display, accelerometer and rechargeable battery. To ensure that the locator is within a perimeter, it can cooperate with a subordinate unit that includes an ultra-low power RF transceiver, processor, power supply, DC charging output, rechargeable battery, visual, audible and tactile enunciators and pushbutton, and can be plugged into an outlet or be unplugged and be mobile. Other wireless units can be used to define a perimeter.
Abstract:
In described embodiments, a system establishes a perimeter around an area, and mobile devices within the established perimeter communicate with a server that provides and collects personal and asset safety information. The provided information might enable users associated with the mobile devices to plan actions or take routes based on a given criteria, such as a safest route, through display on the mobile device. The collected information from the mobile device might be location, emergency event, environmental factors, sensor information and the like, which might then be communicated to users and/or administrators of the system. Location information, such as through global positioning system (GPS), might provide tracking of mobile devices and users or assets associated with each mobile device. GPS functionality associates latitude, longitude and elevation (X-Y-Z coordinate axis) data with the collected and provided information.
Abstract:
The invention relates to methods and devices for supervising a baggage item using a security device comprising at least one sensor, a processor connected to said sensor, and a communication unit connected to said processor. Said method comprises the steps of monitoring (S101), by the at least one sensor, a status of a baggage item, detecting (S102), by the processor, a change in the status of the baggage item and determining (S103), based on a detected change in the status, whether a notification is to be issued, and transmitting (S104), by the communication unit, the notification to a supervision unit.
Abstract:
An alarm device of the invention includes: a transmitting-and-receiving circuit unit which transmits and receives an event signal with other alarm device; an alarming unit which outputs alarm; an operating unit which includes an alarm stopping unit; an interlocking source alarm output processing unit which, upon receiving abnormal-detection signal from a sensor unit which detects abnormality, outputs alarm indicating an interlocking source, and transmits the event signal indicating the abnormality to the other alarm device of an interlocking destination; an interlocking destination alarm output processing unit which, upon receiving event signal indicating the abnormality from the other alarm device, outputs alarm indicating an interlocking destination; an interlocking source alarm stop processing unit which, upon detecting an operation to the alarm stopping unit while outputting the alarm indicating the interlock source, transmits the event signal for stopping the alarm to the other alarm device and stops the alarm; and an interlocking destination alarm stop processing unit which stops an output of the alarm indicating the interlocking destination and transmits the event signal for stopping the alarm to the other alarm device, when an operation to the alarm stopping unit is detected while outputting the alarm indicating the interlocking destination, while which stops an output of the alarm indicating the interlocking destination, when the event signal for stopping the alarm from the other alarm device is received, while outputting the alarm indicating the interlocking destination.
Abstract:
A method of communication among portable electronic devices (1a, 1b) situated at less than a predetermined distance (d) and comprising a characterization profile (2a, 2b) of a corresponding user, the method comprising the steps of - sending a broadcast message (M1) at a preset frequency from a first electronic device (1a), which message comprises a device ID (id1) and the characterization profile (2a) of the corresponding user; - receiving the broadcast message (M1) in a second electronic device (1a), comparing the characterization profile (2a) of the broadcast message (M1) with the characterization profile (2b) of the second electronic device (2a) and providing an affinity value (3) for the characterization profiles (2a, 2b).
Abstract:
In some embodiments, a personal possession management system using a short range Internet Protocol (IP) based Personal Area Network (PAN) comprises a master device MD to be worn or held by a user, and an IP based RFID electronic tag ET to be attached to or contained within a personal possession desired to be managed. The electronic tag ET has communicability with the master device. The master device MD is configured to allot an IP address to the electronic tag ET in a registration mode using IEEE 802.11 protocols and sends probes to the electronic tag ET. The electronic tag ET is configured to receive messages from the master device MD and respond accordingly. The master device MD alerts a user when the communicability between the master device MD and the electronic tag ET is disrupted in a monitoring mode.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an electronic device (1) that is to be incorporated into a motor vehicle. Said device (1) comprises a radio module (18) for establishing a short-distance wireless connection to an authorized cellular telephone (2) which is identified based on an identification key for the authorized cellular telephone (2) stored in a memory element (28) of the electronic device (1). In order to make it easier to retrieve the electronic device after the same has been stolen, the electronic device (1) further comprises means for detecting dismounting of the electronic device (1) from a motor vehicle as well as means for automatically establishing a short-distance wireless connection to another cellular telephone and automatically initializing a mobile wireless connection to said other cellular telephone when an identification key for the other cellular telephone is to be or is stored for the first time in the memory element (28) after restarting the electronic device once dismounting has been detected.
