摘要: An apparatus, a system and a method monitor a device within a zone. A head may wirelessly communicate with an emitter and a hub. The head may connect and/or disconnect power to a battery of the device according to a charge of the battery. The head may monitor an attachment of the head to the device and/or a connection of a cable to the head and/or a port of the device. The emitter may transmit a signal to define the zone and/or the head may receive the signal. A distance between the head and the emitter may be determined using a received signal strength indication and/or a time of flight measurement of the signal from the emitter to the head. The distance may indicate whether the head is positioned within the zone or outside of the zone. An alarm may be triggered if the head is positioned outside of the zone.

摘要: A system for tracing of an object, comprises a communication unit (100) which in a normalcy is placed close to the object. The communication unit (100) contains a reader (110). a radio station (120) adapted to communication with a base station (130) and an electrical energy supply (140). The system furthermore has an ID unit (125) in or at the object. The ID unit (125) has a unique ID. and contains a receiver and a transmitter adapted to transmit the unique ID of the chip as a response to an incoming signal from the reader (110). An alarm circuit (115) is placed between the reader (110) and the radio station (120). Alarm circuit is configured to trigger an alarm if the reader does not receive a response from the ID unit. The communication unit (100) may further comprise means for determining the geographical position of the radio station (120). In an application for monitoring of animals the energy supply (140) may be charged by a generator which converts motion energy to chemical energy in the energy supply (140).

摘要: A method and an apparatus for monitoring the maximum distance between two objects (1, 2), in particular between a child and its guardian, with the aid of two transceivers (3, 4), the first of which periodically transmits status messages (IDC, STc,i, TPc,i) of a particular transmission power (TPc,i) to the second, wherein an alarm is triggered in the second transceiver (4) if the reception of the status messages decreases, and wherein a statement of the transmission power (TPc,i) is concomitantly transmitted in each status message (IDc, STc,i, TPc,i), are distinguished by the fact that the transmission power (TPc,i+1) to be used for the next status message is determined by comparing the reception power (RPc,i) with the transmission power (TPc,i) stated in a status message and is transmitted back to the first transceiver (3) in a confirmation message (IDP, STp,i, TPc,i+1).

摘要: In accordance with the principles of the invention, one or more individuals carry a wireless beaconing device that transmits a signal on a regular basis, such as every five seconds, that can be detected by a plurality of wireless receivers positioned at various locations in a household or other area. The receivers form nodes of a wireless network that further includes a control node. Each wireless receiver records the signal strength at which it receives the signal from the beaconing device and sends that information to the control node. The control node correlates this information and uses it to estimate the location of the individual. In this manner, the controller can track the location and movement of a person and provide that information to a caregiver or further process the data to analyze it for particular traits that might indicate that an individual is injured or otherwise in need of assistance. Such traits might include a lack of movement for an extended period of time, failure to go to a particular place in the household, such as the bathroom, on a reasonably regular basis, etc.
