摘要: In an interference fit type cutting tool according to the present invention, a projection and a fitting projection are formed at the rear end of an edge section and at the leading end of a shank section, respectively. A connecting member is provided with first and second holes that have a predetermined interference with respect to the outer diameters of the projection and the fitting projection. The edge section and the shank section are fixed by interference fitting between the first hole and the projection, and between the second hole and the fitting projection. Chatter vibration is reduced by making the edge section and the shank section of a high-rigidity material having a lower coefficient of thermal expansion than that of the connecting member.

摘要: A drill (20) having an elongated body (11) including a fluted land (12) and a shank (25). The fluted land (12) includes a plurality of radial grooves (47, 49, 51) of reduced material thickness formed therein to the depth of the flutes (27, 29, 31). The grooves (47-51) define discrete segments (53, 55, 57) of the drill (20). Each segment (53, 55, 57) has a facet (59, 61, 63) which has the relief of a drill tip (12) so that when the exposed drill tip (12) becomes dull, the segment (53) can be broken off at the notch exposing a successive, sharp drill tip. The drill (20) can have the cutting edges coated with an appropriate protective material such as TiN, titianium nitride, titanium carbide, titanium carbonitride or any other appropriate coating material to improve cutting and preserve the edge.

摘要: A highly stiff end mill comprising a shank, a plurality of helix cutting edges on the periphery of the end mill, the end mill being characterized in that a radial rake angle of the helix cutting edges in a cross section perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the end mill is set in the range of -29 o to 0 o and a core diameter of the end mill is set in the range of 70 to 90% of the outside diameter of the end mill.
By selectively determining the negative rake angle in the range described above, this end mill is applicable to hard materials and has general-purpose properties. The improper factors of the end mill, such as increased cutting resistance, can be compensated for by setting the core diameter thereof to the range described above. Le matériau synthétique du corps (2) est choisi dans le groupe constitué par le polyester, les polyamides, les polyarylamides, et le polysulfure de phénylène, ou le mélange de ces prooduits. Préférablement, le matériau du corps (2) est armé en fibres de verre ou fibres minérales et complété de billes minérales, choisies dans le groupe constitué par le verre, le talc et le mica. La couronne périphérique (10) est réalisée en un matériau choisi dans le groupe constitué par les aciers à coupe rapide, le carbure de tungstène, le diamant artificiel, les céramiques et les mélanges de phases céramique-métal.
