    摘要: A method for quickly cutting rigid polyurethane foam laminate, especially metal faced laminate, while the laminate is continuously transported on a conveyor, consists of moving circular saws, arranged in fixed disposition alternately above and below the laminate, towards and away from the laminate in a line perpendicular to the laminate. The saw blades collectively extend across the width of the laminate. Alternatively the blades are moved with a gyratory motion to increase the effective cutting width of each blade enabling the blade diameter to be reduced.
    Saws 11 and 12 are two of three saws extending across the width of laminate 14 supported on a frame 15 mounted in guides 16 on a carriage 17 movable in synchronism with advancing laminate 14. The saw blades 11' and 12' are moved alternately into cutting engagement with the laminate by displacement of frame 15 relatively to carriage 17.

    摘要: Disclosed is a method for cutting pieces having a predefined length, i.e. sticks, out of a mass of cheese. In said method, the mass of cheese is shaped into a wide cheese bar (1, 11) having a predetermined thickness in a continuous process, the cheese bar (1, 11) is fed to a cutting device by means of a belt conveyor (2) at a certain conveying rate, the cheese bar (1, 11) is first cut into parallel longitudinal strips using longitudinal cutting means (5), and the longitudinal strips that lie parallel next to each other on the belt conveyor (2) are cut into pieces using a transverse cutting means (4) comprising a transverse cutting knife (12) which extends across at least part of the cheese bar (1, 11). The transverse cutting knife, the movement of which is adjustable, is conveyed along with the cheese bar (1, 11) at the conveying rate during the transverse cutting process. The pieces of cheese obtained following the longitudinal and transverse cutting processes remain on the belt conveyor (2) in order to be discharged.

    摘要: The invention relates to an apparatus for continuous casting of metal billets comprising a horizontal casting mould having and inlet end and an outlet end. It includes a feed trough for feeding molten metal to the mould inlet end and a horizontal conveyor for receiving a cast billet from the mould outlet end. A moveable cutting saw is operable to move synchronously with the conveyor for cutting a continuous billet into lengths while supported on the conveyor. The billet is resiliently supported and the saw mechanism is isolated so as to minimize transmission of low and high frequency vibrations from the cutting and conveying operations to the mould.

    摘要: Described is a method of making a laminated paint roller wherein a perforated strip of thermoplastic material is advanced, the perforated strip having holes there-through. A lubricant is applied to the inner surface of the advancing perforated strip of thermoplastic material. The lubricated, perforated strip of thermoplastic material is helically wound around a cooled mandrel so as to form a helically wound strip wherein the inner surface of the perforated strip faces the cooled mandrel and the outer surface of the perforated strip faces away from the cooled mandrel. The wound perforated strip is advanced along the cooled mandrel. A layer of adhesive is applied onto an outer surface of the wound perforated strip. A strip of composite cover material is helically wrapped about the wound strip and over the layer of adhesive, the outer surface of the composite cover material comprising a pile fabric, and the inner surface of the composite cover material comprising thermoplastic. A compressive force is applied upon the composite cover material to urge the composite cover material, the layer of adhesive and strip of thermoplastic material together against the cooled mandrel, thereby laminating the inner surface of the composite cover material to the outer surface of the strip. A method of making a composite cover material is also disclosed.
