    摘要: Multiple intake valves operatively associated in a common combustion chamber are advantageous in that the design achieves high output for an internal combustion engine. The subject modified cylinder head utilizes the advantages available in a multiple intake valve system, but further enhances the design by reducing heat rejection. In the subject modified cylinder head, three intake valves (38, 40, 42) having corresponding intake valve ports (26, 28, 30) and one exhaust valve (68) having an exhaust valve port (66) are operatively associated in a common combustion chamber. A reduction in heat rejection is achieved through a relationship between the cross-sectional areas of the intake and exhaust valve ports (26, 28, 30, 66). The intake valve ports (26, 28, 30) are constructed so that their cross-sectional area is larger than about 69 % of the combined cross-sectional area of the intake and the exhaust ports (26, 28, 30, 66).

    摘要: A side valve internal combustion engine provided with at least one combustion cylinder (2) having a piston (1). At least two intake valves (17') and at least one exhaust valve (15') are provided for each of the combustion cylinders. In order to maintain a compact engine and provide a nozzle-type combustion chamber (23), the intake valves and exhaust valve are located to one side of the combustion chamber in the engine block. The exhaust valve is further located at a greater distance from the combustion cylinder than the intake valves in order to decrease heat distribution on the cylinder walls. The nozzle-type chamber provides for efficient flow of gases within the engine.

    摘要: The present invention concerns a device for fuel injection intended for an internal combustion engine with a wide range of speeds of revolution and with high requirements for rapid response such as, for example, the engine in a motor cycle, and a method of controlling fuel injection to such an engine. In the invention according to the present application the fuel injection to an internal combustion engine comprising an intake pipe (1) with at least one intake valve (2) and one or more injectors is controlled in such a manner that a first fuel injection in order to obtain a well prepared air/fuel mixture occurs early in the working cycle of the engine following the closure of the intake valve and a second fuel injection in order to obtain an optimal amount of fuel for the cycle, a process known as 'transient compensation', occurs late in the working cycle before closure of the intake valve.
