The resulting particulate mixtures exhibit electrochemical and mechanical properties making them suitable to be advantageously used in electrochemical batteries and in paints.

The invention relates to a method of preparing surface-purified graphite particles from particles of an impure graphite. The inventive method comprises at least one step whereby the graphite particles are treated with a dilute aqueous solution of (H2SO4 and NH4F). According to the invention, the H2SO4 and the NH4F each have a weight content in the dilute aqueous solution of between 5 and 30 % of the total weight of said solution, while the quantity of the dilute aqueous solution represents between 70 and 95 % of the weight of the graphite particles to be purified.

The invention relates to a positive electrode material, consisting of particles having a complex oxide OC1 core, an at least partial complex oxide OC2 coating, and an adhesive carbon surface deposit. The material is characterized in that the complex oxide OC1 is an oxide having a high energy density and in that the oxide OC2 is an oxide of a metal having a catalytic effect on the reaction of the carbon deposit, the oxide having good electronic conductivity. The presence of the OC2 layer facilitates the deposit of a carbon adhesive layer at the surface of the oxide particles, and improves the conductivity of the material when the latter is used as an electrode material. The electrode material can particularly be used in the manufacture of a lithium battery.

The invention relates to a mixture of particles comprising a non-conducting or semi-conducting core which is covered with a conducting hybrid coating and hybrid conducting chains which are located between the particles of the mixture and which form a conductivity network, said mixture being prepared by means of mechanical crushing. The incorporation of said particle mixtures in the anodes and cathodes of electrochemical generators is advantageous owing to the very high conductivity of the network, the low resistivity, the excellent high current capacity and/or the good energy density thereof. In this way, the inventive particle mixture can be used to produce highly-performing electrochemical systems.
