Described herein is a multi-channel biopotential signal acquisition system (900) in which a plurality of biopotential channels is corrected for common-mode interference. Each biopotential channel comprises an electrode (910, 920, 930, 940) for providing a biopotential input signal and an associated amplifier (950, 960, 970, 980) for amplifying the biopotential input signal and for providing a biopotential output signal (955, 965, 975, 985) that is processed in a processor (250, 260, 270, 990). Each biopotential output signal (955, 965, 975, 985) is passed to a common-mode feedback system (810) that determines an average common-mode signal and feeds that signal back to each of the amplifiers (950, 960, 970, 980) in each of the biopotential channels to enhance common-mode rejection ratio of the system (900).

According to the present invention, a gas sensor (100) comprises at least one sensing element (104), which in turn comprises at least an ionic liquid and at least one set of electrodes (101, 102) for polarizing the at least one sensing element (104). An electric power source (105) powers the at least two electrodes, thus generating an impedimetric response signal from the sensing element (104). Finally, a readout circuitry (106) separately analyzes the resistive and capacitive components in the impedimetric response signal, allowing multi-detection of different gasses and reducing cross-sensitivity.

An All-Digital-Phase-Locked-Loop, ADPLL, arranged for generating a DCO output signal and a feedback loop comprising a set of components for controlling the DCO. The components comprising a Time-to-Digital Converter provided for performing phase detection within a predetermined observation window between a reference signal and an enable signal, a first subset of components arranged for generating the enable signal from the DCO output signal, and a second subset of components arranged for positioning the reference signal within the predetermined observation window. The first subset of components comprises a multiphase generator unit deriving from the DCO output signal a plurality of phase-shifted DCO copies and a phase selection unit for selecting on the basis of the phase setting control signal a DCO copy having an appropriate phase-shift for generating the enable signal. The DTC of the second subset of components has a reduced range with respect to that of the period of the multiphase generator output signals over at least part of the frequency range of the DCO.
