DE 196 48 164 already discloses a profiled frame support in which a tubular reinforcing part is arranged inside a cavity and the remaining cavity is foamed with a metal foam material. The aim of the invention is to provide a highly rigid and easy-to produce body component of a motor vehicle. For this purpose, the reinforcing element is a reinforcing profile (13) that is fastened to a profile (2) of the body to be reinforced according to the load it is subjected to. The geometrical dimensions of the reinforcing profile (13) match the geometrical dimensions of the profile (2) to be reinforced at least in opposite sections (15, 16). The reinforcing profile (13) is produced from a high-strength material whose yield strength s s is 300 N/mm 2 s = 2000 N/mm 2 .
