A device for pyrolysing biomass comprises: a reactor space; a first feed for biomass material connecting to the upper zone thereof; a second feed for heated heat carrier material connecting to the upper side of the reactor space; a first discharge for pyrolysis gas connecting to the upper zone of the reactor space at a distance from the first feed; and a second discharge for solid material, for instance carbon and heat carrier material, connecting to the underside of the reactor space. A substantial separation between the discharge flows of pyrolysis gas and solid material takes place predominantly under the influence of gravitational force, without interposing of a cyclone. The reactor space is modeled such that the direct flow from the first feed and the second feed to the first discharge is blocked. A mechanical mixer is present in the reactor space for the purpose of mixing the flow of biomass material with the flow of preheated heat carrier material.

The present invention relates to a slurry reactor system suitable for continuous multiphase reaction/separation, as well as a method for continuous reaction/separation of a multiphase reaction in a slurry reactor system. The system includes a reaction vessel, a separation device that includes a separation chamber and a filter element, and an agitation device. The filter clement includes a filter, which is in contact with a slurry in the reaction vessel and on the surface of which a solid material from the slurry forms a filter cake in the reaction vessel. The agitation device generates a flow of the slurry in the reaction vessel. A flux of a liquid product from the slurry in the reaction vessel across the filter and into the separation chamber is maintained at a substantially constant level for long term continuous reaction/separation without interruption.

Moreover, a method for manufacturing the water-absorbing resin of the present invention includes a modifying step and a cooling step. The modifying step and/or the cooling step are/is carried out by using stirring means including a rotation axis (70) having a plurality of stirring boards (80b), and the stirring means includes the stirring board (90b) having a specific thickness and/or a scraping blade having a specific shape. With this, it is possible to suppress the generation of the fine powder in the modifying step and/or the cooling step.

The nature of the method of treating multicomponent, composite and combined materials, consisting of organic and inorganic, non-metallic and metallic components and especially of waste from electronic and electric devices and equipments, consists in that the treated materials are pretreated by removing contaminating components containing toxic heavy metals and polychlorinated biphenyls, by grinding the waste to particles having the size of 5 t o 2 5 m m at most, and they are subjected, in an inert or reducing environment at a temperature of 350 °C to 600 °C and at a pressure of 100 kPa to 10 MPa, to the action of blades of a rotational mechanism for 10 seconds to 10 minutes, and to the action of a moving bed of solid particles of a substance, performing whirling motion. In this way there occurs depolymerization, cracking and state transformation of macromolecular, solid and liquid organic fractions and their separation from the composite material in the form of organic vapours and gases, and disintegration of inorganic non-metallic fractions to small particles and increase of metal concentration in the inorganic phase.

The invention relates to a reactor (3) for carrying out catalyzed liquid reactions, whereby the catalyst is finely distributed in the reaction area(3). According to the invention, the reactor (3) comprises at least one inlet (1) and one outlet (2). All educts are supplied via the inlet and all products are discharged via the outlet. The inlet and outlet are provided with a means (8) enabling the inlet and outlet to be connected in such a way that an outlet can be used as an inlet and at the same time an exit previously used as an outlet can be used as input used for an inlet. A filter element (1,2) is provided on the inlet and outlet in order to retain the catalyst inside the reactor. A device is also provided in the reactor in order to ensure homogeneous distribution of the catalyst and educts in the reactor. Said reactor makes it possible to conduct reactions of the above variety with a high solid content without being obliged to separate the catalyst from the production flow in an extra procedural step and without regular cleaning and interrupting the process.
