    摘要: A mounting (20) which provides superior isolation yet which eliminates damaging edge-induced shear strain (ENT) buildup in the elastomer sections (28) and (30) when exposed to high temperatures by having a first elastomer section (28) loaded in compression and a second elastomer section (30) loaded in shear. Exposing the mounting (20) to elevated temperature environments allows the first elastomer section (28) to expand in height and places the second elastomer section (30) in shear to accommodate the height change. The instant invention compensates for fluid and elastomer expansion due to high temperatures by providing a mechanical type compensator (37) which takes up less space and eliminates the pressure loss associated with air-charged compensators (99). Further, a unique combination of fluorinated fluids and polysiloxane polymer enables the mounting (20) to withstand temperatures of greater than 200 deg F for extended periods of time.

An elastomeric mount (12, 14) may then be made laterally soft in a first (in the disclosed case, the tangential) direction and more rigid in the direction of the primary load path. Efforts can then be directed to dynamically softening the mount (12, 14) in the primary load path. Specific apparatus may include passive fluid devices, active fluid devices, passive non-fluid devices and active non-fluid devices. In the case of a fluid mount, another feature of the invention is to have an auxiliary fill port (66) of the volume compensator (40) in alignment with at least one and, preferably both, of the primary fill port (58) for the mount and the inertia track (38) to facilitate filling.

    摘要: Methods are provided for the selective removal of CO2 from a multicomponent gaseous stream to provide a CO2 depleted gaseous stream having at least a reduction, e.g. 30 to 90%, in the concentration of CO2 relative to the untreated multicomponent gaseous stream. In practicing the subject methods, the multicomponent gaseous stream is contacted with an aqueous fluid, e.g. CO2 nucleated water, under conditions of selective CO2 clathrate formation to produce a CO2 clathrate slurry and CO2 depleted gaseous stream. A feature of the subject invention is that a CO2 hydrate promoter is employed, where the CO2 hydrate promoter is included in the multicomponent gaseous stream and/or the aqueous fluid. The CO2 hydrate promoter serves to reduce the minimum CO2 partial pressure required for hydrate formation as compared to a control. The subject methods find use in a variety of applications where it is desired to selectively remove CO2 from a multicomponent gaseous stream.

    摘要: This invention relates to a graft polyolefin which is obtained by a method comprising the steps of: (a) dissolving or dispersing, in an organic solvent, an acid anhydride-modified amorphous polyolefin which comprises propylene and butene as polymerizable components, thereby preparing its solution or dispersion; (b) adding a hydroxyl group-containing radical polymerizable monomer to the solution or dispersion, and allowing the acid anhydride-modified polyolefin to react with the hydroxyl group-containing radical polymerizable monomer; and (c) effecting graft polymerization by adding at least one radical polymerizable monomer and a radical initiator. This invention also relates to a resin coating composition which contains this graft polyolefin as a solid content.

    摘要: A textured metallocene polyethylene foam sheet suitable for use in a floor covering is made using a highly co-activated azodicarbonamide package which blows the metallocene polyethylene effectively. The preferred co-activators are zinc oxide and urea. The textured surface of metallocene polyethylene foam is formed by a chemical embossing process which utilizes a liquid triazole having an alkyl moiety as a foam-expansion inhibitor. The triazole is dissolved in a non-polar solvent to form the foam inhibitor. The preferred inhibitor is a hydrocarbon which may be halogenated.
