A steering control system is for use on a vehicle having an operator station including a steering wheel that is turned by an operator of the vehicle to cause a steered wheel of the vehicle to pivot relative to a main body. The steering control system includes a hydraulic cylinder for changing a steered position of the steered wheel in response to movement of the steering wheel. The steering control system also includes a hydraulic circuit arrangement that varies a volume of hydraulic fluid flow provided to the hydraulic cylinder per degree of rotation of the steering wheel based on a rotational speed of the steering wheel. The hydraulic circuit arrangement directs a first volume of hydraulic fluid to the hydraulic cylinder per degree of rotational movement of the steering wheel when the steering wheel is rotated at a first rotational speed, and directs a second volume of hydraulic fluid to the hydraulic cylinder per degree of rotational movement of the steering wheel when the steering wheel is rotated at a second rotational speed. The second rotational speed is larger than the first rotational speed and the second volume of hydraulic fluid being larger than the first volume of hydraulic fluid, wherein the steering control system is more sensitive when the steering wheel is rotated at the second rotational speed than the first rotational speed. The system also includes a sensor for sensing the steered position of the steered wheel, a display positioned at the operator station, the display providing an indication of the steered position of the steered wheel, and a controller that interfaces with the hydraulic circuit arrangement, the sensor and the display.

A permissible maximum travelling speed provided by the traction motor system is controllable in dependence of the steering angle of the steerable wheel, whereby the permissible maximum travelling speed is more limited at large steering angles than at low steering angles. The steering system further comprises an angular velocity determination means for direct or indirect determination of an angular velocity of a steering angle alteration. The permissible maximum travelling speed is further controlled in dependence of the angular velocity, so that the permissible maximum travelling speed is more limited when a high angular velocity is determined than when a low angular velocity is determined.

Methods and apparatus for tracking the location of one or more unit loads in a coordinate space in a facility, comprising an integrated system that identifies a load by communicating with a host computer, determines the position of the load in the coordinate space, and stores the position and load identity in a Load Map. A mobile subsystem on each conveying vehicle identifies the location and orientation of that vehicle using a position/orientation sensor, confirms acquisition of the load, and communicates the information to a fixed-base subsystem when the load is deposited on an automated conveying device. A conveyor controller tracks the load as it is conveyed on the automated conveying device and identifies the load to a subsequent conveying vehicle based upon its position on the conveying device. Loads that are not initially identified are assigned a pseudo-identification for tracking until they can be positively identified.

The lift vehicle includes a vehicle chassis supported on front and rear wheels respectively coupled with a front axle and a rear axle, and a boom pivotally coupled to the lift vehicle. The system monitors a vertical load on the rear axle and manages boom lift down speed based on the vertical load. Additionally, the system may manage the boom lift down speed based on both the vertical load on the rear axle and an anticipated operator demand according to a signal from an operator input device.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Leitsystem für manuell geführte Fahrzeuge, wie beispielsweise Reachstacker oder Straddlecarrier. Erfindungsgemäß wird die Position der Fahrzeuge permanent automatisch erfaßt und einem Führungssystem zur Ausfertigung zugeführt. Ausgehend von extern bereitgestellten Transportauftragslisten werden die Fahraufträge optimiert an die einzelnen Fahrzeuge zugewiesen. Es werden geeignete Fahrtrouten für die Fahraufträge bestimmt und die Fahraufträge einschließlich der Fahrtrouten werden automatisch an die Fahrzeugführer übermittelt. Ihre Ausführung wird überwacht.
