An amplifying system 100 for a mobile device is described the amplifying system comprising a current monitor 12 arranged between a first supply node and a second supply node and operable to monitor a current flow between the first and second supply nodes and to output a monitored current value; a peak current limiter 14 configured to limit an amplifier current to an amplifier to not exceed a maximum peak current value and coupled to a one of the first supply node and the second supply node; a controller coupled to the current monitor output and configured to control the peak current limiter. The amplifying system can dynamically manage the peak current available to the amplifier dependent on the load current being supplied by a battery.

    摘要: A multi-channel switchmode audio amplifier is configured by a programmed processor such that each channel drives separate loads, is connected in parallel or is configured in a bridge-tied mode as well as combinations thereof. In one embodiment, amplifier channels that are connected in parallel have power amplifiers that are driven with signals from a single modulator. A feedback circuit and error amplifier from one channel controls the modulated signal that is applied to each parallely connected amplifier channel. Current feedback circuits for parallely connected amplifier channels are eliminated by tightly controlling the timing of switching in the power amplifier output stages.

    摘要: Embodiments of a hybrid unit that supports a configurable number of radio units for a base station in a cellular communications network and embodiments of Distributed Digitally Convertible Radio Units (DDCRUs) for use with the hybrid unit are disclosed. In one embodiment, a hybrid unit for a base station in a cellular communications network is provided. The hybrid unit includes an analog hybrid matrix. The analog hybrid matrix includes a number of feeder ports operative to connect to at least one radio unit and up to a number of radio units that are external to and separate from the hybrid unit. In one preferred embodiment, the radio unit(s) is(are) DDCRU(s). The analog hybrid matrix also includes a number of antenna ports operative to connect to at least one and up to a corresponding number of antennas of the base station.
