The invention is related to a process for obtaining an adapted strain of Pseudomonas, comprising the following steps: €¢ deleting the genes ExoS ExoT, aroA and lasI in an initial Pseudomonas strain cultivated in a LB medium, €¢ progressively cultivating this strain in a chemically defined medium based on a glucose minimal medium supplemented with magnesium and calcium, wherein the adapted strain presents the same toxicity and secretion capacities than the initial strain, and its doubling time when cultivated in said chemically defined medium is less than 60 minutes. The present invention is also related to the adapted strain such as obtained,in particular wherein the adapted strain is furthermore treated to become 'killed but metabolically active'.

The invention describes an isolate of a fluorescent pseudomonad of the species Pseudomonas azotoformans , strain F30A, which has been deposited at Deutsche Sammlung von Mikroorganismen und Zellkulturen GmbH and has been assigned accession number DSM 22077, which is capable of enhancing seed germination, seedling establishment, plant emergence, plant growth and/or the yields of crops treated with the isolate. Accordingly the invention further comprises the use of this pseudomonad for enhancement of plant emergence and growth and agricultural compositions comprising the pseudomonad.

A process for producing a complex crystalline sugar comprising D-psicose and D-allose, the process comprising producing a complex crystalline sugar comprising D-psicose and D-allose from a sugar solution containing D-psicose and p-allose and collecting the complex crystalline sugar. The solvent of the sugar solution used in the production of the complex crystalline sugar is water or a mixture of water and ethanol. The sugar solution containing D-psicose and D-allose is produced by a process comprising reacting D-psicose with L-rhamnose isomerase to convert D-psicose into D-allose. The L-rhamnose isomerase is derived from a strain (IPOD FERM BP-08593) belonging to Pseudomonas stutzeri.
