A secondary arm set of at least one secondary spring arm extends along a non-radial secondary path progressing radially and angularly about the central axis. Each secondary arm is interposed in an opening between the primary arms allowing the primary arms and the secondary arms to pass by each other through the openings without interfering with each other.

By giving an appropriate compressive residual stress to a wire material, a compression coil spring having high durability can be provided even using an inexpensive wire material. The present invention provides a compression coil spring formed by using a steel wire material, the steel wire material consisting of C: 0.45 to 0.85 mass%, Si: 0.15 to 2.5 mass%, Mn: 0.3 to 1.0 mass%, Fe and inevitable impurities as a remainder, and a circle-equivalent diameter of 1.5 to 9.0 mm, wherein hardness of a freely selected cross-section of the wire material is 570 to 700 HV, and at an inner diameter side of the coil spring, unloaded compressive residual stress at a depth of 0.2 mm from a surface in an approximate maximal main stress direction in a case in which compressive load is loaded on the spring is 200 MPa or more, and unloaded compressive residual stress at a depth of 0.4 mm from surface is 100 MPa or more.

An elastic member can combine flexibility and rigidity, and can implement functions of buffering and shock absorption while effectively supporting a vehicle body. One end of the elastic member is turned and bent towards the other end, and passes through the body of the elastic member. The turned and bent part forms a curled portion (3). Portions of the curled portion (3) extending towards two ends form a first arm (1) and a second arm (2). The curled portion (3) pre-stores deformation of a material to integrate an elastic capability of the material and specifically gathers a weak elastic capability of a rigid material, thereby obtaining a higher elastic bending moment, and providing functions of buffering and shock absorption while bearing is provided. For a flexible material, the flexible material can be restrained by using the curled portion to increase rigidity and reduce randomness of deformation of the flexible material, thereby combining flexibility and rigidity. An elastic structural member is capable of implementing a bearing capability combining rigidity and flexibility. The structural member has a geometric shape of penetration type turn, and is not limited by a penetrated space size.
