A solar control member (50; 62; 70; and 90) for determining solar control for a window (52) includes an optically massive layer (58; 66; and 80) between a gray metal layer (60; 64; 76; and 86) and a titanium nitride layer (56; 68; 78; and 88). The optically massive layer has sufficient thickness to retard or prevent constructive and destructive interference of reflected light. The optically massive layer may be an adhesive, but also may be one or more polymeric substrates. The gray metal layer is preferably nickel chromium, but other gray metal materials provide superior results as compared to the prior art. Also in the preferred embodiment, the titanium nitride layer is closer to the window (e.g., glass) than the gray metal layer.

An apparatus and method for inspecting a surface of a sample (S), particularly but not limited to a semiconductor device, using an electron beam presented. The technique is called Secondary Electron Emission Microscopy (SEEM), and has significant advantages over both Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Low Energy Electron Microscopy (LEEM) techniques. In particular, the SEEM technique utilizes a beam of relatively high-energy primary electrons (11) having a beam width approximate for parallel, multi-pixel imaging. The electron energy is near a charge-stable condition to achieve faster imaging than was previously attainable with SEM, and charge neutrality unattainable with LEEM.

The present invention discloses a method and system compensating for thermally induced motion of probe cards used in testing die on a wafer. A probe card incorporating temperature control devices to maintain a uniform temperature throughout the thickness of the probe card is disclosed. A probe card incorporating bi-material stiffening elements which respond to changes in temperature in such a way as to counteract thermally induced motion of the probe card is disclosed including rolling elements, slots and lubrication. Various means for allowing radial expansion of a probe card to prevent thermally induced motion of the probe card are also disclosed. A method for detecting thermally induced movement of the probe card and moving the wafer to compensate is also disclosed.

The system uses a combination of techniques including conventional automatic dependent surveillance broadcast (ADS-B) (110, 150, 200), transponder multilateration, broadband emitter multilateration, primary and secondary radar, and passive coherent location (400, 450, 500). A series of enhancement to conventional passive coherent location are described.
