Abstract:
A method to prepare nonwoven webs which have good MD and CD strength, and are water disposable is provided. The method includes hydroentangling an airlaid web of no less than 50% by weight of natural cellulose fibers having a fiber length of no more than 3.5 mm and no more than 50% by weight staple fibers having a fiber length of no less than 8.0 mm. The airlaid web is not laid on a precursor web and no adhesive, binder or thermal bonding fibers are utilized. The airlayering and hydroentangling are conducted in a continuous operation. Products may be obtained according to the method of this invention that meet municipal guidelines for flushability.
Abstract:
Textile fibres and textiles produced from Brassica plants retain properties that are favourable for textile manufacture. Also described are textiles manufactured from the textile fibres produced from the Brassica plants which exhibit properties that are favourable for apparel and domestic applications, as well as industrial applications. Methods for producing the textile fibres from Brassica plants are further described.
Abstract:
Flame resistant fabrics are formed by warp and fill yarns having different fiber contents. The fabrics are constructed, for example, by selection of a suitable weaving pattern, such that the body side of the fabric and the face side of the fabric have different properties. The fabrics described herein can be printable and dyeable on both sides of the fabric and are suitable for use in military and industrial garments. Methods of forming flame resistant fabrics, and methods for forming garments from the fabrics, are also described.
Abstract:
The woven fabric (1) according to the invention comprises warp (2) and weft (3, 4) yarns, the weft yarns (3, 4) comprise first weft yarns (3) and second weft yarns (4), the first weft yarns (3) and the warp yarns (2) form a base layer (1a) of the fabric, while the at least one plurality of second weft yarns (4) forms an additional layer (1b) of the fabric that can be broken under a stress without damaging the base layer (1a) to change the appearance of the fabric (1) and of the clothing articles made of said fabric (1).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for the manufacture of fibrous yarn comprising the steps, where an aqueous suspension (100) comprising fibers and at least one rheology modifier is provided, followed by directing said suspension (100) through at least one nozzle (20a, 20b, 20c, 30a, 30b, 30c, 40a, 40b, 40c), to form at least one yarn, and then dewatering said yarn.
Abstract:
Novel woven materials, producible by a new weaving method, are described that comprise single or doubled warps and wefts in the form of tapes that are preferably partially stabilized type of fibrous tape. These fibres are caused to occur in a non-linear arrangement during the weaving process. The non-linear fibres can be subsequently straightened by pulling the tape longitudinally. The doubled warps and wefts comprise disconnected tapes. Such separateness of constituent tapes of doubled warp and weft tapes enables them to be slid/slipped relative to each other by pulling longitudinally and laterally without causing any alteration in the woven structure. These novel fabrics solve the problem of uneven fibre distribution and orientation arising from crumples/wrinkles due to compression and stretches due to extension, at the inner and outer sides respectively, when tape- woven fabrics are curved into shapes. Further, by using doubled warps and wefts fabrics with relatively flat/planar sections and thicker/raised wide rib sections can be also created that resemble a bit like a profiled material in its cross-section. Other fabrics like those comprising slant/oblique weft tapes, shaped warp and weft tapes, formed shape within its body are also producible.
Abstract:
In some embodiments are an article including a woven fabric having warp yarns and weft yarns. Either warp yam or weft yarn or both warp and weft yarns have two separate systems of yarns. The systems of yarns include a hard yarn forming the main body of fabric and a composite covered elastic yarn with an elastic fiber core; wherein the fabric has an outer face side, a back side, and the fabric includes at least one of: (a) a weaving pattern where the composite yarn and at least one adjacent hard yarn pass over the same pick when the composite yarn is on the outer surface; (b) the ratio of hard yarn denier to composite yarn denier is at least 1 : 1; and (c) the composite yarn floats over no more than 5 picks on the outer face side.
Abstract:
The present invention introduces a process of spinning bast fibres through health preservating is as the following steps: Health preserving bast fibres; Opening and cleaning, carding the health preserved bast fibres and dra wing the carded health preserved bast fibres into bast fibre strips; Health preserving said bast fibre strips; Spinning the health preserved fibre strips into yam; the present invention also introduces a kind of yarn made by such process; The present invention further introduces a process of blended spinning bast fibre with other fibres through health preservating, and the yarn made by such process. The present invention realizes low end breakage rate , and high efficiency, so as to achieve high quality products.
