    摘要: A transhydrogenation process for the conversion of alkanes to alkenes with high yields and extended catalyst life between regenerations comprises the passing of an alkane combined with a suitable hydrogen acceptor over a catalyst bed, subject to the conditions that

    (a) the pressure is from 0-4 atmospheres (gauge);
    (b) the hydrogen acceptor is present to the extent of from 5-30% by volume;
    (c) the temperature of the catalyst is from 400° - 600°C; and
    (d) the temperature of the catalyst is raised during the process at a rate of from l-l5 deg. C/hr.
    The catalyst is preferably a chromia on alumina type.

    摘要: An efficient and economical process is disclosed for oxidizing fused ring hydrocarbons to quinones by means of an aqueous acidic solution of cerium. The aqueous solution employed comprises dilute nitric acid containing a total cerium content of between about 0.5 and about 1.5 gram atoms per liter, about 30% to about 70% of which but not less than about 0.2 gram atom per liter is in the tetravalent state. Said aqueous acidic solution can be easily recovered and electrolytically treated at commercially attractive current densities of one ampere per square inch or higher to regenerate tetravalent cerium for reuse in oxidizing additional quantities of fused ring hydrocarbon.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a method for the activation, maintenance and improvement of activity during reactor shutdown, and reactivation of PMA based catalysts by treating the catalyst precursor with a nitrogen-containing compound such as an oxide of nitrogen gas or a nitrogen acid such as nitric or nitrous at a temperature of from about 100°C to about 400°C. The method can be employed for activation in a reactor by loading the catalyst precursor, adjusting the reactor temperature to one suitable for activation and optionally sweeping the reactor with an inert gas followed by the treating step. The method can also be employed for maintenance of activity of the catalyst in the reactor by terminating the feed of hydrocarbon to the reactor and then flushing the reactor. The method can be employed for catalyst reactivation in the reactor by terminating the feed of reactant to the reactor, adjusting the reactor temperature as may be necessary to one suitable for reactivation and sweeping the reactor with a gas. Alternatively, the catalyst can be removed from the reactor for reactivation.
