A solvent-less hybrid curable composition is prepared from grafting polyesters or polyamides onto a (meth)acrylic copolymer backbone. Besides the many benefits of a solvent-less system, the hybrid curable composition forms strong adhesion to polar substrates, widens the use temperatures, and enables faster processing speeds than conventional hybrid curable compositions. The solvent-less hybrid curable composition forms an optically clear single phase that is suitable as tapes and labels, or in electronic, optoelectronic, OLED and photovoltaic devices, and the like.

An adhesive composition for flip-chip-mounting a chip component on a circuit board contains an alicyclic epoxy compound, an alicyclic acid anhydride curing agent, and an acrylic resin. The amount of the alicyclic acid anhydride curing agent is 80 to 120 parts by mass based on 100 parts by mass of the alicyclic epoxy compound, and the amount of the acrylic resin is 5 to 50 parts by mass based on 100 parts by mass of the total amount of the alicyclic epoxy compound, the alicyclic acid anhydride curing agent, and the acrylic resin. The acrylic resin is a resin obtained by copolymerization of 100 parts by mass of alkyl (meth)acrylate and 2 to 100 parts by mass of glycidyl methacrylate and having a water absorption rate of 1.2% or less.

A process is provided for preparing a pressure sensitive adhesive hydrogel, comprising: (A) providing an oligomeric precursor, the oligomeric precursor comprising a polyether moiety endcapped with ethylenic unsaturation, the oligomeric precursor being associated with methacrylic acid; (B) providing an ethylenically unsaturated crosslinking agent selected from the group consisting of difunctional ethylenically unsaturated monomer, trifunctional ethylenically unsaturated monomer and combinations of the foregoing; (C) free radically curing the oligomeric precursor and the ethylenically unsaturated crosslinking agent in water at a pH between about 3.5 and about 9 to provide the pressure sensitive adhesive hydrogel.

A (meth)acrylate-grafted polyether polyol produced by reacting 40 to 95 parts by weight of a polyoxyalkylene polyol and 5 to 60 parts by weight of a vinyl monomer, both relative to 100 parts by weight of the sum total of the polyoxyalkylene polyol and the vinyl monomer, and 0.1 to 5 moles of an alkyl peroxide as a radical initiator per mole of the hydroxyl group in the polyoxyalkylene polyol, wherein the polyoxyalkylene polyol has a hydroxyl number of 25 mg KOH/g or less, and the vinyl monomer contains a (meth)acrylate and/or a hydroxyl-containing (meth)acrylate in an amount of 50% by weight or higher. The (meth)acrylate-grafted polyether polyol is excellent in colorless-transparency, compatibility, mechanical strength, weather resistance, and blending resistance, and therefore is useful as a raw material for a polyurethane resin cured article.
