摘要： A process for making a prefastened and refastenable pant (301) includes providing a plurality of discrete articles having side panels (34) and waist regions (22) including an activatable retractive material. The side panels (34) can be folded parallel to a longitudinal centerline (308) to overlap at least portions of first and second fastening components (82,83,84,85). The fastening components are then engaged for form a prefastened and refastenable pant. The retractive material can be activated subsequent to engagement of the fastening components, or subsequent to obtaining position control of the side panels, to provide the pant with a waistband-to-hip circumference ratio of about 95 percent or less. The prefastened and refastenable pant and apparatus for its manufacture are also disclosed.

摘要： A nonwoven web material that contains an elastic component is provided. The elastic component contains a crosslinked network formed from a linear block copolymer having a monoalkenyl aromatic midblock positioned between conjugated diene endblocks (e.g., butadiene-styrene-butadiene ('B-S-B') thblock copolymer). Prior to crosslinking, such linear block copolymers have a relatively low viscosity and thus may be readily formed into a precursor elastic component that is subsequently crosslinked to achieve the desired elastic and mechanical properties. Crosslinking is typically achieved through the formation of free radicals (unpaired electrons) that link together to form a plurality of carbon-carbon covalent bonds at the conjugated diene endblocks.

摘要： The invention relates to a method for use in constructing a garment (25) including elastic therein, in a processing system, as one of a series of consecutive workpieces in a continuous web having a width dimension, the method including, with respect to respective workpieces, the steps of: (a) stretching elastic; (b) incorporating the elastic into the continuous web in stretched condition on a first rotary transport device having a first outer working surface effective to inhibit shrinkage of the web in the width dimension on the first rotary transport device without use of suction; and (c) relieving stretch in the elastic at a first portion of each respective workpiece in the web, while maintaining stretch in the elastic at a second portion of each respective workpiece. The stretch sheet has protrusions and grooves extending in the direction perpendicular to the stretching direction, the bonding parts (4) or embossed parts being formed in the protrusions.

The invention further comprises applying, to the relatively non-stretchable non-securement zones, fastener material extending generally between adjacent ones of the relatively more resiliently stretchable securement zones.
