Abstract: Modular carriage for varying spacing between ends of polymer pipe during fusion. The modular carriage (10) includes a fixed jaw (12); an inner movable jaw (14); an outer moveable jaw (16)and a plurality of guide rods (24/26). The fixed jaw (12) being adapted for tool free engagement with the terminal ends of the plurality of guide rods (24/26). A carriage cylinder (32/34) is associated with at least two of the guide rods (24/26) and mounted for reciprocal travel along the length of its associated guide rod. The movable jaws (14/16) being adapted for tool free engagement with at least two carriage cylinders (32/34) for reciprocal travel therewith. A combined hydraulic cylinder/guide rod (80) includes a guide rod (82) with an integral guide rod piston (88), a cylindrical tube (84), and a guide rod gland on each end of the cylinder tube (84).

Abstract: A piece insertion method for a pipe, for example an irrigation pipe, including: ejecting at least one piece, for example a dripper, from an ejection unit, advancing the at least one dripper inside the irrigation pipe by a dripper advancing unit, lifting the dripper towards the inner surface of the irrigation pipe by using a lifting device such that the dripper is parallel or substantially parallel to this inner surface of the irrigation pipe on impact with this inner surface. The method according to the invention allows also coordination between the lifting device, the ejection unit and the dripper advancing unit such that the dripper spacing can be maintained in tight tolerances.

Abstract: Method to mount a set of graphic elements (21) on a body as a fabric, non-woven fabric, leather or leather substitutes, plastic sheet, cardboard or metal or the like, assigned to receive such set of graphics elements (21) fixed by first peduncles to a first frame (22) having two perimetral longitudinal sides; where each graphic element (21) is provided with at least one projecting pin (23) assigned to pass through the body and to engage a, and to be fixed into, a respective seat (28) formed in an abutment means (26) corresponding to the graphical element (21) where each of the set of said abutment means (26) is fixed by respective second peduncles to a corresponding second frame (27) having two perimetral longitudinal sides; where each set of graphic elements (21) fixed to the respective first frame (22) constitutes a plate (20) and where the set of corresponding abutment means (26) with the respective second frame (27) constitutes a counter-plate (25); this method is characterized in that it comprises the following steps: - positioning a plate (20) and a counter-type plate (25) mutually spaced and facing so that each pin (23) is aligned with a respective seat (28); - inserting the body between the plate (20) and the respective counter-plate (25); - translating along the alignment direction the set of graphic elements (21) of the plate (20) and/or the set of abutment means (26) of the corresponding counter-plate (25) until the crossing of the body and engagement of the seat (28) by the pin (23); - fixing the pin (23) in their seats (28) blocking the graphic elements (21) to the body; - separating the sets of graphic elements (21) and of abutment means (26) from the respective first and second frames (22, 27) by shifting the latters with respect to said graphic elements (21) and abutment means (26) in a transverse direction in respect to the peduncles (29) shearing them; - perform said separation during the translation and before the crossing of the body by the pin (23).

Abstract: The present invention relates to a cloth bonding apparatus that is capable of accurately adjusting a nozzle gap that is a gap between discharge ports of a nozzle and a lower roller. A nozzle lever swings around a pivotal shaft. The nozzle is provided on a lower end portion of the nozzle lever. Due to the swinging of the nozzle lever, the nozzle moves toward a contact portion of an upper roller and the lower roller. A stopper comes into contact with the nozzle lever. The stopper is driven by a pulse motor and moves along a cloth feed direction. The cloth bonding apparatus controls a rotation position of the pulse motor and positions the stopper, and is therefore capable of adjusting the nozzle gap with a high degree of accuracy.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods and apparatuses for mechanically modifying substrates. The apparatuses herein may include a tool roll and an anvil roll. The tool roll may include tooling members adapted to perform various different operations, such as bonding, cutting, embossing, and/or activation of advancing substrates. The tooling members and associated tooling surfaces may not extend completely around the circumference of the tool roll. As such, the tool roll also includes one or more bearer rings that engage the anvil roll during portions of the tool roll rotation where the tooling members are not in engagement with the anvil roll. The tooling members and bearer rings herein are configured to help reduce vibrations in the anvil and/or tool roll caused by the alternating engagements of the tooling surfaces and bearer rings with the anvil roll during rotation.
