摘要: Provided are a method of and an apparatus for recording editable maker information, and an information storage medium thereof. Digital broadcasting programs are received and recorded. Maker information corresponding to the digital broadcasting programs is recorded in an extended information area of a management information area in which navigation data is recorded. Maker information pointers pointing out the maker information is recorded in a program management information area of the management information area in which management information on the digital broadcasting programs is recorded so as to respectively correspond to the digital broadcasting programs. As a result, an area, in which navigation data for navigating contents having new data structures can be recorded, can be secured even in an apparatus that does not support the recording of digital broadcasting programs having new data structures. Also, when a predetermined digital broadcasting program is edited, editable navigation data corresponding to the predetermined digital broadcasting program can also be recorded.

摘要: A cleaning device for cleaning magnetic head and photo pickup of a compact disc drive includes a playback-only disc medium received in a recording-enable disc cartridge. The disc medium has a Read-in TOC area for recording medium identification information to indicate a recording-enable disc medium, a User TOC area, a Recorded area, and a No-record area radially sequentially surrounding the Read-in TOC area. Information for managing records on the Recorded area is recorded in the User TOC area. A cleaning sheet for cleaning the magnetic head is attached to entire surface of the disc medium facing the magnetic head. The Recorded area is radially divided into three sub-areas. The inner sub-area has voice messages of "Cleaning starts" or for operating methods recorded therein, the middle sub-area has 30 minutes of silence and has a brush mounted thereto for cleaning the photo pickup, and the outer sub-area has a voice message of "Cleaning ends" recorded therein. The inner and the middle sub-areas are identified as a magnetic track No. 1 and the outer sub-area a magnetic track No. 2.

摘要: A second generation CD provides improved sound quality over that provided by a first generation CD while remaining compatible with it has a higher sampling rate and has a data format of 1-bit ΔΣ modulation. The higher sampling frequency is an integer multiple of the standard sampling frequency of 44.1 kHz used in the first generation CD to thereby simplify the clock signal generation circuitry. The recording system uses decimation filters to lower the sampling frequency of the 1-bit ΔΣ modulation signal so that the same signal can be used to manufacture both a first generation CD and a second generation CD. The playback apparatus is compatible and the kind of disk is determined based on the table of contents information, so that the appropriate clock signals can be provided to the decoders. In the case of the first generation CD being played back, the data is converted by an oversampling filter and a ΔΣ modulator before being digital to analog converted.
