Abstract:
In an information processor which records many contents or has many contents already recorded therein, and can generate an arbitrary combination of the contents, a weight is computed for each of the contents based on either data stored in a history data file (184) or data stored in a display data file (182) and data stored in a filtering data file (181), and a content is selected from the contents-stored in a content file (161) based en the weight. The selected content is related with a package corresponding to the data stored in the filtering data file (181).
Abstract:
A method of renewing encryption applied to a content file in a playback device comprising determining a specified variant of at least one microcode function to be used in playing back the content file, determining if variants are stored in internal memory on the playback device to determine if the specified variant is included in the stored variants, retrieving the specified variant from a variant storage in a memory located In a media device in communication with the playback device, if the specified variant is not included in the stored variants, and using the specified variant to access the content file.
Abstract:
In the case that data such as AV data is recorded in a recording apparatus and/or in the case that data is reproduced by a reproduction apparatus, there is no concrete mechanism that protects copyright. An encryption means 11 for encrypting AV data sent from an interface 4, a control means 14 for controlling the encrypted AV data to be recorded and a recording means 15 controlled by the control means 14 for recording the encrypted AV data in a magnetic disk are provided such that the control means 14 controls the recorded data to be reproduced, the recording means 15 is controlled by the control means 14 so as to reproduce the data recorded on the disk and a decryption means 12 decrypts the reproduced data that is sent to the interface.
Abstract:
With content management apparatus 110 serving as a copy origin and storage medium 120 as a copy target, the copy origin retains allowed copy count control information on content, and when the content is copied from the copy origin to the copy target, the allowed copy count control information retained at the copy origin before copy processing is updated in accordance with a predetermined rule to generate allowed copy count control information to be retained at the copy origin and allowed copy count control information to be retained at the copy target, and subsequent copy processing at the copy origin is done based on the allowed copy count control information retained at the copy origin, whereas subsequent copy processing on the content stored in storage medium 120 is done based on the allowed copy count control information stored in storage medium 120. In this way, it is possible to achieve content management which is easily understandable for users.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for transferring from a broadcaster (101) to a receiver (102) a limited reproduction right in data. A signal indicating the limited reproduction right is transmitted by the broadcaster (101) and stored (104) by the receiver (102) with the data. The receiver (102) reproduces and processes the data as a function of this signal.
