摘要:
The present invention provides methods of treating subterranean zones penetrated by well bores in primary well cementing operations, well completion operations, production stimulation treatments and the like. The methods are basically comprised of introducing into the subterranean zone an aqueous well treating fluid comprised of water and a water soluble polymer complex fluid loss control additive.

A foam-fluid composition for use in foam fracture applications and foam slurry transport comprises a thickening amount of a viscoelastic surfactant composition, a functionally effective amount of a surfactant composition capable of forming a foam, and an aqueous liquid. Foam-fluid formulations are easily prepared, reusable, shear stable, easily pumped and form stable foams over a wide temperature range and exhibit high viscosities even at relatively high temperatures.

Gas permeability of very low permeability subterranean formations, and the gas permeability reducing effects of injecting one or more treatment fluids thereinto, are measured by injecting a gas into a core sample of the formation at a selected substantially constant pressure, and continuing the injection for a long period of time to ensure steady state flow conditions. The temperature of the gas as it flows through the core sample and the flow rate of the gas exiting the core sample are measured, and the native state gas permeability of the core sample is calculated therefrom. One or more treatment fluids can be injected into the core sample after the native state permeability is determined. Thereafter, the gas permeability can again be determined and compared to the native state permeability.

Circulating and non-circulating well-drilling fluids are provided comprising parenchymal cell cellulose. In accordance with a preferred embodiment, improved viscosity and fluid loss control in circulating well-drilling fluids are obtained from the inclusion of parenchymal cell cellulose in such fluids. In accordance with another preferred embodiment, certain polymers, especially anionic polymers, and polymers derived from hemicellulosic materials are admixed with parenchymal cell cellulose in well fluids to provide synergistic fluid loss control and other beneficial properties. Methods for the employment of circulating and non-circulating well fluids employing parenchymal cell cellulose are also disclosed.
