The invention relates to additives containing a cellulose ether composition used in the form of a water-retainer, plasticiser and a lubricant for extruding inorganic materials. The use of the inventive cellulose ether composition in construction materials and in other mixtures whose maximum grain size is equal to 2 mm and a method for extruding inorganic materials by means of said additives are also disclosed. The use of said methyl-cellulose composition makes it possible to obtain, while the extrusion process, the improved process properties, the best quality of the extruded body surface and the product improved properties. The additives containing cellulose ether composition also comprise a solvent (for example, a carboxylate ether or carboxylic acid) and an antifoaming agent (for example alkylene-glycol).

A mixture composition of a cellulose ether made from raw cotton linters and at least one additive is used in a gypsum based dry mortar composition wherein the amount of the cellulose ether in the gypsum based dry mortar composition is significantly reduced. When this gypsum based dry mortar composition is mixed with water and applied to a substrate, the water retention, sag resistance, and workability of the wet plaster mortar are comparable or improved as compared to when using conventional similar cellulose ethers.

Described herein is a cement fluidifier consisting of starch sulphate, its hydrolysed derivatives, or their salts, where the starch sulphate has a sulphur content of between 6 % and 12 % and a molecular weight of between 3'000 and 50'000. Also described are cementitious compositions having high fluidity and reduced entraining of air, containing said starch sulphate, and their process of preparation. A process is moreover described for increasing the fluidity of cementitious compositions and/or for reducing entrapping of air, characterized by the use of a fluidifier consisting of said starch sulphate.
