Abstract:
Cylindrical structure comprising a vertical wall (3) and a bottom wall (2), said bottom wall having a plurality of sectors (4) that are mirror images of each other in rotation, each sector comprising a plurality of adjacent rectangular elements (8), characterized in that said bottom wall is in the shape of a regular polygon, each side (6) of which corresponds to one of said sectors, the edges of the rectangular elements of a sector being respectively perpendicular and parallel to the side of the polygon corresponding to said sector.
Abstract:
An apparatus for storage and liberation of compressed hydrogen gas is provided. The apparatus includes a housing defining a chamber that includes a cartridge comprising an array of hollow microcylinders defining cavities for storage compressed hydrogen gas. Each microcylinder has at least one end sealed with a plug made of an easily meltable alloy. The apparatus also includes a hydrogen liberating tool configured for controllable liberating the hydrogen gas from the cartridge into the chamber; and a control system operatively coupled to the discharge valve and liberating tool, and configured for controlling operation thereof. According to another aspect of the invention, there are provided a system and method for filling a cartridge having an array of hollow microcylinders having open ends. The filling includes placing the cartridge into a chamber of an autoclave, and compressing the hydrogen gas in the chamber, thereby providing permeation of the hydrogen gas through the open ends into cavities of the microcylinders. Thereafter, the open ends are sealed with plugs made of an easily meltable alloy.
Abstract:
A label (2) for a cylinder (30) containing fluid under pressure comprises a generally annular plastics collar (4) able to be fastened around the cylinder valve (32) and a bib (6) integral with the collar (4). The label (2) has moulded into it information bearing members (24) and (26). The bib 6 has a configuration such that when the collar (4) is in position around the cylinder valve (32) the bib (6) extends over a part of the neck (34) of the cylinder (30) without the side of the bib (6) protruding from the plane of the cylinder. The collar (4) has a radial split (10) and a fastening member (12) which in its fastening position extends from a point (16) of engagement on one side of the radial split (10) to a point (16) of engagement on the other side of the radial split (10).
Abstract:
Abstract:
This invention relates generally to an improvement in low pressure storage and dispensing systems for the selective storing of gases having Lewis acidity or basicity, and the subsequent dispensing of said gases at pressures, e.g., generally below 5 psig and typically below atmospheric pressure, by modest heating, pressure reduction or both. The improvement resides in storing the gases in a reversibly reacted state within a reactive liquid having opposing Lewis basicity or acidity.
Abstract:
Protective cover for a container of fluid, particularly for a compressed-gas bottle, comprising a covering body (5, 6) and a ring (3) that forms an assembly interface designed to be placed between a container and the covering body (5, 6), said cover being characterized in that the ring (3) has an opening (13) around its circumference for positioning it on or removing it from a container.
Abstract:
A portable liquid oxygen medical delivery system (5) including a portable liquid oxygen delivery apparatus (10) and a portable liquid oxygen recharger (12). The portable liquid oxygen delivery apparatus contains an initial quantity of liquid oxygen. The liquid oxygen delivery apparatus is sufficiently lightweight for portability by an ambulatory patient and has a fill port for receiving liquid oxygen. The liquid oxygen recharger stores a supplemental quantity of liquid oxygen and is also sufficiently lightweight for portability by an ambulatory individual. The liquid oxygen recharger has an interface for interfacing the liquid oxygen recharger with the portable liquid oxygen delivery apparatus for delivering the supplemental quantity of liquid oxygen to the portable liquid oxygen delivery apparatus.
Abstract:
A fluid storage and dispensing system (10) including a vessel (12) for holding a fluid, an adjustable set point pressure regulator (42) in the ineterior volume of the vessel (12), a dispensing assembly in fluid flow communication with the regulator for dispensing fluid at a pressure determined by the set point regulator, and an adjusting assembly (52) exterior to the vessel for in situ adjustment of the set point of the internally disposed regulator (42). By such arrangement, fluid storage and dispensing operations can have respectively differing regulator set point pressures, as for example a sub-atmospheric pressure set point for storage and a super-atmospheric pressure set point for dispensing.
