摘要: A mounting plate (10) is disclosed that is adapted to be positioned between a main flow line and at least two differential pressure transmitters, to place the two differential pressure transmitters in fluid communication with a pair of pipeline taps. The mounting plate includes a plate-like body generally rectangular in cross section. The plate-like body includes a pair of ports (12, 14) that extend through the body and are in fluid communication with the pair of pressure taps with the longitudinal axis of the body parallel to the main flow line. A plurality of passageways or bores (18, 24, 30) extend into the body to connect the ports to various combinations of pressure transmitters. One or more mounting holes for the transmitters are on a line that intersect the longitudinal axis of the body at an angle to allow some of the passageways or bores to be drilled straight and parallel to the longitudinal axis of the body between the mounting holes.

摘要: A medication dispenser station is provided for automatic dispensing of medication in accordance with a prescription schedule for a patient. The station receives and supports a plurality of medication-containing cassettes in a vertical stack, with the cassettes having aligned discharge openings defining an open discharge chute. The cassettes, which may contain different medications to be administered at different times, includes scannable data identifying the medication and prescription schedule applicable to each cassette. A station read head scans the data to input information regarding the medication and administration schedule for each cassette to a station control unit. The control unit thereafter operates a station dispense head to engage the cassettes in a manner dispensing the medication via the discharge chute at the prescribed times. The thus-dispensed medication falls through the chute to an externally accessible receiver from which the medication can be removed by the patient.

摘要: Portable shoulder dressing (10) apparatus is disclosed for dressing shoulders on threaded ends of tubular connections (12, 14). The shoulder dressing tool, either of the box type or pin type, uses primary and/or secondary cutters (56, 64) to remove material from seal and/or stop shoulders of the tubular connection either simultaneously or on a single shoulder. The shoulder dressing tool includes a mandrel (20) that is threadably secured to the threaded end of the tubular connection. A piston (24) and cutter bar (33) are fixably secured together for holding primary and secondary cutter blades (56, 64). The piston, cutter bar, and cutters are mounted for axial and rotational movement with respect to the mandrel. A compression chamber (30) is activated, either hydraulically or pneumatically, to provide a biasing force to urge the cutters axially into contact with the shoulders to be dressed. An axially adjustable stop (68) including a stop roller (20) is used to set a travel length that determines the amount of material removed from the shoulders. The shoulder dressing tool may be operated either manually or automatically.

摘要: Coring apparatus (10) and method are disclosed which provide for hydraulic latching of an inner core barrel (26) within an outer core barrel (12). The apparatus includes a valve face (48) disposed around the inner core barrel (26) and valve seat (52) disposed around the bore of the outer core barrel (12) that close to form a restriction in drilling fluid flow path (54). A hydraulic differential force is thereby created which holds the inner barrel (26) in place. Axially oriented bores (64) in a hanger assembly (58) and in stabilizers (62) are disposed along the inner core barrel (26) to provide a flow path for the drilling fluid after the restriction is formed. The bores are calibrated to produce a pre-determined hydraulic force on the inner barrel (26). A bearing assembly (30) is used to prevent transmission of outer barrel (12) rotation to the inner core barrel (26). The outer surface of the bearing assembly (30) forms the valve face (48) so as to form the drilling fluid restriction and also provides an axial stop that prevents further axial movement of the inner barrel (26) towards the core head (14).

摘要: A blowout preventer comprises means for allowing the pressure above and below its rams to equalize before the rams are opened. At least one of the rams has a bypass passageway (30) therethrough disposed so as to allow communication between well zones above (16) and below (18) the rams, respectively. The bypass passageway also has a straight-sided tubular sealing section (28) intermediate its ends. A sealing piston (36) carrying a circumferential seal (42) sized to engage the sealing section (28) of the bypass passageway is reciprocable in that passageway to move the circumferential seal (42) into and out of engagement with the sealing section (28) and thereby respectively prevent or permit fluid flow through the bypass passageway (30). Where the actuator shaft (34) for the ram is connected to the ram by a lost motion type connection, the sealing piston (36) may be carried on the shaft.
