    摘要： This invention is an obturator for use in filling an endodontically prepared root canal in a tooth formed as an elongated body having a handle portion (10) and a shaft (12), the handle portion (10) being configured for grasping by a practitioner whereby the shaft (12) may be inserted into a root canal, the shaft tapering from the handle (10) to the shaft distal end (14), the shaft having an exterior surface having a generally linear groove (22) therein extending from near the handle to the shaft distal end, or at least adjacent the shaft distal end, the groove providing a channel for flow of excess filler material as the shaft is positioned into a prepared root canal, increased flexibility of the shaft, and a passageway that will accept a slender, tapered metallic retrieval tool, such as a typical endodontic file, to assist in the removal of the shaft from a root canal.

    摘要： The invention provides a heat formable tray having a bite block and a method of forming the tray to a patient and forming a final impression in a single visit to the dental office by the patient. A custom fitting variable dimension bite registration dental impression tray, is provided which includes a bite registration member, and a dental impression tray. The dental impression tray comprises a heat adjustable material having a softening point above 38 °C and below 120 °C. The variable dimension bite registration dental impression tray is used in a method for making an impression of dental tissue, comprising the steps of: a) providing a variable dimension bite registration dental impression tray, b) heating the dental impression tray to softened state, c) adjusting the dimensions of the dental impression tray, d) cooling the heat adjustable material so that it solidifies, and e) enveloping the tissue with the dental impression material, whereby a final dental tissue impression is obtained.

    摘要： The invention is an endodontic handpiece, its control system and method of use for rotating an endodontic file to clean a root canal. The invention control system provides for rotating a file clockwise or counterclockwise through a desired first arc of rotation and, next, sequentially rotating said instrument in the opposite direction of the first arc of rotation through a second arc of rotation, wherein the first arc of rotation exceeds the second arc of rotation such that sequentially occurring rotations cause debris material removed in cleaning said canal to be ejected upwardly from said clean surfaces as such file is advanced in cleaning said canal.
