摘要: An intraocular implant for placement in the eye, e.g. as part of a cataract operation or crystalline lens extraction refractive operation, has at a peripheral portion (54) of the implant a groove (56,62,63,66,67) which engages with the lip of a single capsulotomy only formed in the lens capsule of the eye. The implant will normally be a lens (52,70,94), but may instead be a bung or plug for occluding an opening made in the capsule. The groove may be a continuous groove around the periphery of the implant, or there may be a series of individual spaced-apart grooves formed as projections protruding from the periphery. Instead of a single groove, a pair of axially spaced-apart grooves may be provided, which engage with respective capsulotomies formed in an anterior and a posterior part of the capsule. The posterior groove is preferably of a smaller mean diameter than the anterior groove.

摘要: A proportioner for dispensing plural component materials includes an electric motor (12) having two ends, to which are attached respective reciprocating piston pumps (18). The pumps are connected to respective sources of two different materials, and have outputs having respective pressures. A controller is also provided having provision for a user-selectable setpoint. The controller continually monitors the two pressures and Lives an alarm in the event one of the pressures falls to a predetermined percentage of the setpoint.

摘要: A fuel cell system includes: a liquid storage section (1) for storing a reacting solution; a reacting section (2) for generating reacting gas from the reacting solution supplied from the liquid storage section (1); and a fuel cell having an electrode which is arranged being joined to a solid high molecular electrolyte film (4b), generating electricity while the reacting gas supplied from the gas storage section (3) is being used as fuel. The fuel cell system also includes: a gas storage section (3) for storing the reacting gas supplied from the reacting section (2); and a liquid feeding device for feeding the reacting solution from the liquid storage section (1) to the reacting section (2). The liquid feeding device includes: an accommodating section for accommodating the reacting solution which moves from the liquid storage section (1) to the reacting section (2); and an accommodating section moving mechanism for moving the accommodating section, where the accommodating section is a container having an opening section and a shut-off section. When the opening section moves to the reacting section (2) and the shut-off section moves to the liquid storage section (1) according to a decrease in the inner pressure in the gas storage section (3), the communication between the accommodating section and the liquid storage section (1) is shut off and the accommodating section and the reacting section (2) are communicated with each other; whereas, when the opening section moves to the liquid storage section (1) and the shut-off section moves to the reacting section (2) according to an increase in the inner pressure in the gas storage section (3), the accommodating section and the liquid storage section (1) are communicated with each other and the communication between the accommodating section and the reacting section (2) is shut off. The liquid feeding device prevents the reacting solution from flowing backward from the reacting section (2) to the liquid storage section (1), and when the inner pressure in the gas storage section (3) is lowered according to the consumption of the reacting gas, the liquid feeding device moves the reacting solution from the liquid storage section (1) to the reacting section (2).

摘要: A thermal activation method for a heat-sensitive adhesive sheet is provided, in which the adhesive sheet has an adhesive layer, which can be rendered adhesive by heat generated by driving a linear array of heating elements (10) of a thermal head (11). The method includes: the step of selectively driving the plurality of heating elements by choosing in advance which at least one of the plurality of heating elements is to temporarily stop being driven and by setting in advance when to stop driving this heating element, in a manner that gives a first region, that is not heated by any opposing heating element, a location and a size that allow the first region to be thermally activated with heat transmitted from a second region, the second region surrounding the first region and being heated by opposing heating elements, the first and second regions constituting a predetermined region, the entirety of which is to develop adhesion; and the step of thermally activating the adhesive layer throughout the predetermined region by thermally activating the heat-sensitive adhesive layer in the first region with heat transmitted from the second region, the heat being transmitted to the first region laterally through the heat-sensitive adhesive layer (1a), the dissipation of the heat in a depth direction of the heat-sensitive adhesive sheet being limited due to the existence of the heat insulating layer (1c). By this means, a sticking power is developed which is substantially equivalent to that obtained when all the heating elements facing the predetermined region are driven. This substantially equivalent sticking power is achieved with a driving energy which is less than a driving energy in a case where all the heating elements which face the predetermined region are driven.

摘要: The invention provides a printing method of printing on a printing medium. The method includes: performing a halftone process with a dither matrix on image data that represents a tone value of each pixel making up an original image to determine a state of dot formation at each of print pixels of a print image that is to be formed on the printing medium, and generating dot data that represents the determined state of dot formation; and generating a print image by mutually combining each of dot groups that are formed at each of a plurality of pixel groups in a common print region according to the dot data, the plurality of pixel groups being assumed to have different physical conditions with respect to the dot formation. The dither matrix stores each threshold value such that a number of dots to be allocated to each of the plurality of dot groups is determined according to a dot formation order of each of the plurality of dot groups in the common print region in the halftone process.

摘要: A magnetizing method is provided for magnetizing a cylindrical permanent magnet disposed to a rotor for the motor so that domains, that are magnetized in a radial direction and have aligned magnetizing directions, are arranged at regular intervals in a circumferential direction. The permanent magnet is configured so that, provided that D represents an inner diameter of the permanent magnet, t represents a thickness in the radial direction, N represents the number of poles, and M represents the number of AC phases for driving the motor, D is set to 20 (mm) or smaller and t is set to satisfy the relation of t ≤ πD/(NM - π). The method includes a one-direction magnetization step of magnetizing the permanent magnet in one direction, which is the radial direction; and a pole magnetization step of magnetizing the permanent magnet magnetized in the one direction in the one-direction magnetization step to domains that inverse the magnetizing direction at regular intervals in the radial direction.
